BMW 520i Enquiry

Hi There,I am going to purchase the 520i and i am very worry on one issue which i think you guys can share with me. My friend told me that he had change something call the ID board (electronic) which cost RM 35K ++, is it the iDrive or something else. This fault also can make the car cannot drive and etc.....please help, need some precious advise...Thanks in advance!!

Every car has problems once in a while that's unavoidable, even Ferrari's are no different..go for it bro..but at least go for 525 or 530 for better..why 520?

I don't believe a person who owns a hayabusa & fair lady can live with a 520. Way in 99, I also own a Blackbird so I know what speed is about. Tried a 320 in 08, sold in off in 365 days. Believe me, now I also feel my 530 not fast enough having been whacked by the 335 & the M,s during the last drive.

Agreed. i used to be satisfied with 2.4 Japanese car. now once tried BMW 530, no fight!

btw, the cost of purchase for used car for 520 & 530 not much difference rite? only the road tax issue.

Haha, u am damn right!! Btw, for those who wrote that the wives is satisfied with a 520, have you let her try a 530 or 335 yet? Surely if wives jump from 1.5 to 2.0 surely satisfied. Because now my wife can tell me this car no power leh, that car better.....and so on...it goes.... Cheers

my 520 2.2cc 2004, bought 2009 used.
RM100 ron 95 go for 250km town n 600km highway full tank
normal service at 10k km with fully syn oil at +-RM500
yearly wear n tear n minor repair at +-RM5k (although most parts cheaper than estima ,surprisingly)
u hav to be really passionate to own this UDM!

520 , 523 , 525 , 530 , 540 , 550 is all the same except for its power. BMW is always BMW.

Ask yourself, and go for it . After all if you get a 520i , you will not be competing with a 525 or 530... therefore u will have a safe drive .. Drive safely bro .

On the other side... if u test drive the 525 or 530 .. i think u wont mind forking more money .
