during idling. its really unpleasant and you can feel it thru your seat...i went to complained twice but they said its normal for 316i and dey

dont know how to solve it, how come bmw r selling 200k price tag car that vibrate hard, its really pissed me off with de answer. im really

dissapointed, right now im figuring wat is my next step is...

You will need to change engine mountings, gearbox mountings, and support rear mountings.

bro...new car or relatively new?well an f30 shud not have worn components already such that it causes unwanted vibrations.
maybe you can compare with other 316i then you wud probably have a case.even. malaysian cars with 1.6 engines don't vibrate thru the seats....what more a UDM?
google n see if there are other similar reports.....

gud lak

Sorry to hear about your experience. As a 316i owner myself, I have to say (touch wood) I have not had this experience of bad vibration during idling. The only vibration I do experience from time to time, is when the engine restarts coming out of ASS (Auto Start Stop)

As bro moots indicated, vibrations during idling are usually attributable to worn mountings, engine components, etc. but just to further add, it could also be contributed by overly low engine timing.

Which SC did you go to?

I received my 328 less than 1 month ago. I noticed that on idle, I can feel the car vibration every so slightly, not to the point the car is shaking, also it comes and goes. I am not sure whether this is normal either.

JoeKenzoM, Been driving for 2 months my F30. I don't have such vibration. The only observation I made is during cold start my rpm may go beyond 1000 for maybe 3-5s before settling down to less than 1000. During this period the engine is a little louder than the usuall "diesel like" clattering.

I also have this kind of vibration during idle but not very hard.. at times it shakes a little bit which u can feel it

I have a 316i, Nov 2013 model, have same engine vibration issue. I also noticed it in a demo car. I think it's quite common in the 316i due to the nature of the engines.

I had mine tuned abit higher idling RPM, which helps a little but still sometimes it crops up. It really DOES vibrate that you can feel it. Got a host of other problems as well so far, such as rear left suspension knocking sound, and very very squeaky seats. Anyone encounter this issue?

What more a UDM? hahahahahahaha.. funny.

I've driven three 316i so far. One of my own and two from the dealer as courtesy cars....all I can say is EACH CAR has its own unique problems.

- My own car has engine noise seeping through the firewall which was made by the dealer when they tried to fix the steering vibration sound. Squeaky seats happening on this car.

- The first courtesy car had some really bad dashboard noise on the 2nd day I drove it. Squeaky seats happening on this car too

- The second courtesy car that I'm currently driving has a squeaky steering wheel. Squeaky seats happening on this car too.

But of all three I have not seen this idle vibration issue yet and the second courtesy car is by far the quietest among all three probably coz its really new...I got it with a mileage of 1.4k!

Sounds like all 316i has squeaky seats issue? Including mine.... And I'm kinda lightweight, only 60+ kgs...

Just got car back from service, problem is solved. Apparently the leather rubs at contact point at bottom, so but some leather conditioner, and it's gone. Not sure how long it'll last might need to reapply. At least 1 annoying problem is gone!

Hi bro I tried this conditioner before, doesn't last long haha I thought the SC found a permanent solution to it...

One either routinely and diligently applies leather conditioner or one could reupholster the existing cowhide with one of a better grade eg Nappa.

this question may sound silly.. but what car u drove before this one..?

Having the car from March 2014 , i noticed the vibration too, now not vibrate at all, very smooth!
I notice when i always play around the profile by switching SPORT awhile, then ECO PRO and sometime NORMAL,when frequenc play on it , the car will vibrate when its idle at traffic light or while waiting on idle. While i just keep the setting on NORMAL mode ,( i didnt change to other profile for bout a week until now) ,amazing, it stop vibrate at all.
