Kickdown in the Merc, albeit not as instant as the E32, is simply on another level. The added 200cc over the 730i does play a part in making such a heavy car accelerate into the nether regions of speeds in excess of > 180km such an easy task.Maintenance wise, I would say the Merc is slightly better. Price wise, both are remarkably cheap now, and I must add that these cars will not have been driven very hard.
