Complete overhaul of the gear box cost me RM4,300 with a year's warranty.  Should be cheaper but the mechanic says that the full reconditioning of the torque converter and changing one of the 3 ring band (dunno if that is the right name)..where both alone cost me about RM1k.The place is at Jalan Genting Kelang.  I suggest you ask the sifus around if there's a cheaper and better place.  But I believe its better that you took the complete overhaul route instead of changing the entire gear box with a recon unit since you can be sure that the internal parts i.e. clutch plate, gaskets etc. are replaced with brand new ones.  I guess that is why those shops that replaces your gear box with a recon unit can only give max 1 month warranty.  The inside parts may not last long enough since they're also second hand parts.My 2 sen.</blockquote>
