Message: <blockquote data-quote="E46Fanatic" data-source="post: 57781" data-attributes="member: 81"><p>Its relative I guess.  If you are used to the cushy ride of say a Merc S class, then ya la the 3er will be harsher.  Pre-facelift E46 really glides over bumps, but its too soft IMHO, making the steering feel numb and vague.  BMW engineers improved the feel of the steering and response, with the facelift but the ride suffered as a result.  In 16 and 17" rims setup its still very good compared to say cars like the Accord 2.4 or PV6.  On 18's and the M tech susp it gets harsher and doesnt soak up bumps as well.  All a matter of preference.  My ride with the M-technik sports suspension and 18" is still much more comfy that my Civic EK4 SiR was with Eibachs + Koni yellows and 16" rims.  All very relative.</p></blockquote><p></p>
