Any comments from owners who had PS-2 or F1 Asymmetric tires on your own car?Which one nicer? Worth it or not? :creep:

Considered both ended up with Falken 452.Why pay more if you can have equally good tire if not better and better looking some more.Sure yes I never try ps2 or f1 but Falken 452 really make my driving day.It is just awesome

currently i am running on F1 Assy (Germany). I would say I am quite satisfy with the way my car react & handle during wet & dry situation.

Grip wise also very good.

IMHO, PS-2 is overrated. The side walls are just too bloody soft. You can get similar standards on much cheaper tyres, but from what I heard European brands are definitely longer-lasting. If money is not an issue, I'll definitely go for Bridgestone Adrenalin. Best drive I've ever had but a very short-lived ride.

You can only enjoy the symmetrical tyres on UDMs during the early stages, this is due to the negative camber setting on our rides. After approx 15000-20000km, you get bad aquaplaning, braking, etc. My next set of tyres is definitely going to be directional, better value for money as it will be possible to have even wear.

Other tyres you should review: -

- Conti CSC2 & Conti CSC3
- Falken Ziex 452 (definitely cheaper, durability unknown)

Another tyre for consideration would be the Michelin PP2. I got mine for RM400 and a bit 225 45 / 17. Threw the run flats away.

I throughly agree with climenta on the PS2 being really soft on the side wall but it is a higher rated tyre in terms of speed.

In terms of dry grip, wet grip and ride comfort, the Goodyear Assymetric CANNOT come close to the Michelin PP2.

So PP2 better than F1?

bmw7833: PP2 better than F1 in terms of? How much are the F1's in the first place? Overall I would dare say yes its better than the F1.

Although the PP2 is a lower rated tyre in terms of speed (260/270kmh I forget) compared to the PS2 (290/300kmh i forget too), in terms of value for money (bang for buck) it outshines the PS2. Lets face it, can your car reach those speeds? Even if it can, do we travel at those speeds all the time?

Sorry it may be just me but I am pretty down to earth. Have not tried the Adrenalins so no comment.

I've used initially Conti CSC2 then after that change to GYF1Asym for my present car. IMO the F1 Asym is better in term of grip/traction, dry and especially wet and comfort and cornering. The size are 245/40-19"(FA) and 275/35-19"(RA).

The other car came with Mich PS2 size 245/35-19"(FA) and 265/35-19"(RA). Generally I think th F1 Asym is better. Planning to change to the F1 Asym soon for the rear tyre. The front still have about 50% thread.

In the end it all depends on your personal preference. Not many people will really push the tyre to its limit but I do that a lot of time. I have used CSC2, Bridgest PP2, Pirelli P-Zero Rosso, Michelin PP2, Michelin PS2 and latest is the GY F1 Asym. At the moment I prefer the GY F1 Asym because of the good grip on wet condition and better level of comfort and cornering.

Regards.

Guys, I used PP2 before on my Mazda6, it goes very well with the car. I still sometime miss the combination of that car with PP2.

I push it hard in the corner, it answers. Tyre wall is softer than RE050 so not that responsive on steering input but I can live with it because it's comfortable, quiet, good wet grip too! Pretty all rounded like every said. :listen:

Dry grip wise, RE050 start yelling earlier & gets louder progressively, but it still hold the line. Give u enough time to prepare youself & decide what to do. PP2 start voice up later so you will have lesser time, but at only 2/3 of RE050 price, again I can live with it. Till the end of the life of the tyre, it still hold the line for me nicely, just only more noisy. Guess what, it last me about 55k km!(There's about half a year I was travelling about 5k km/mth, 30k in total on hiway curising. that's why 55k)

RE050 is a very good tyre but more noisy, short life span & expensive. For my kind of preference, I do agree PP2 is value for money & I love it.:top:

Now, not sure if it make sense but I have one silly question here. :stupid:

PP2(215/45/17) on my lighter Mazda6(1400kg) works very well, if I use a std 225/45/17 PP2 on my e46 325(1500kg), I am wondering if it still hold a heavier car that nice like my previous ride? Probably can only change to find out...

Before changing to F1 Assy, I was on CSC2 RFT. Overall I dont like CSC2 due to tramlining & less grip during wet. Prior changing & upgrading from 17 to 18" I started to browse through internet when I found out this:

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Goodyear/Eagle-F1-Asymmetric.htm
http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?showtopic=86477

based on several review from internet, F1Assy is having quite a good response.

As of now, I'm very satisfied having it on my car & already travelling around 10000km with it so far

this is the price for the tyre:

245/40/18 : RM 910.00(quicksave auto, Subang)
235/40/18 : RM 730.00(goodyear shop, at sg besi) forgot the name of the shop

Well, I never try PS 2, but I know lot of people will say PS2 better.
