He finally gave up trying to retain originality and either fabricated the part himself or swapped the engine just so the owner could have his car back.The owner was actually trying to sell it on while it was in the workshop and I literally 'begged' my dad to buy it. Instead, he bought an MGB GT. :cry: The same mechanic also had an early 'step - front' 1600 GT Junior in white.</blockquote>
