One of the symptoms of broken down First Stage Unit (some a/c people call it resistor) is your air cond suddenly have a mind of its own. For example, it is blowing slow for a while, then suddenly fan speed can just increase instantaneously, and sometimes it totally switch off. FSU should cost somewhere around RM300++ if im not mistakken (correct me if im wrong sifus coz i forgot the cost since i changed it last year) A/C not cold can be due to some reasons, mainly leak in the a/c system such as cooling coil, compressor, expansion valve, hoses, etc. The simplest way to determine if there is a leak is just to charge some refrigerant to yr a/c. Note the psi / pressure for that day. Then maybe after a few days / one week, check the pressure again for your a/c refrigerant. If there is a drop, then confirm there is a leak somewhere. And sometimes, it can oso be caused by heater valve not functioning / blocked. AB tech told me before that the car was engineered to "channel" the cold air to certain vents only when the system is low on refrigerant. So, when one of the blower vent suddenly got hot air only while the other is cold air, the system is low on refrigerant. And regarding the "masam smell", i read somewhere in this forum its an indication of cooling coil leak. Try searching this forum for that problem. Hope you can troubleshoot the problem bro :)
