The inner spokes of the rims I'm not too worried about, like you said, the coating might be worn off by the use of excessive/aggressive chemicals or brushing. All in all, the front pair of wheels are the dirtiest, so might usually take about 5-10 mins per front wheel. This is just my normal ritual of washing the rims, not really detailing it. Hehe.
