btw, it's been 3yrs since my last ciggy.... had been smoking for 16yrs b4 that. Was successful on my 3rd attempt... based on my experience, the cutting down slowly strategy doesn't work. eventually end up smoking more :P The 1st & probably the most important thing you'll need for quiting is THE WILL! Then u just need a plan / strategy. wat i did was set a date (it was Oct 5 co-incidentally my buddie's b'day) and convinced that b'day buddy to join me in quiting on his b'day... so the days b4 the date, we went drinking, golfing and puffing all da way, puffed till we dropped. Then came Oct 5, both of us just quit!!! stopped just like that... oh ya, there was a RM50 fine/stick if we caught either smoking :) The 1st week was physically difficult, withdrawal symptoms, anxiety, runny nose, but after that week... body was ok without nicotine. Then the following weeks is just mental... u think u want one after a meal, or when going to toilet but just continue resisting it, it's all in the mind. After 2 mths, all clear.... and at this stage, with a strong mind u won't go back seeing how difficult it was to quit in the 1st place n b4 u know it, it's been 3 yrs :) just sharing..
