8 liters oil for 94'E36 325 is that normal?

Recently just change my engine oil,it takes 8 liters.Is usually like that for an old engine?or something wrong?
 
it's about 7 liters as stated in the specification....

I think user manual stated 6.5 liter...

did u just buy ur car?? noramlly it takes about 7liters for 325 or 328...

mine usually drinks 7 litres..just ngam ngam if you check on the dipstick marking..

8 litres with nothing left?? did you mech actualy check the dipstick or just fill up 8ltrs?

It happened to me once that my car took 8 litres - found out that the actual total quantity of oil in the two cans was actually around 7 litres. According to mechanic he has seen some brands of oil actually pack less than 4 litres per can.
 
wah lau.....mine only 6L....meaning...mine didnt drop till the last drop!

ok...will open it later and let it drip for a day...
 
i just had my e39 serviced. it took less than 8L of oil, maybe 7L. they changed my oil filter and reset my service meter. that's it , you know. when I asked the mech, ok with the modic check -he said everything ok.
I thought it could much more, phew.
 
anyone knows about a 4-pot 318i engine oil capacity?..certainly not as much as 7-8 litres like a 6-potter i'm sure...?
