Malaysia's diesel is rated at 500ppm sulphur content, which is about Euro2 standard, with Euro 3 rated at 350ppm. The 2.0d engines are all Euro 3, and BMW has "localised" the engines to suit our diesel, ie by reprogramming the ECU (lower injector pressure by 10%) and remove the particle filter. So far I have not heard anyone using the 2.0d engines with any problems. Anyway with BMW's warranty program and BSRI (which is the best program in the market), there shouldnt be anything to worry about.</blockquote>
