Hi all,I've just collected my 328 m sport on Friday, been cruising around the city for the weekend and the overall experience is good. Thank god most of the previous mentioned defects are not found in my car. However, I am annoyed by the suspension, here are experiences from various passengers and myselfExperience 1:In comfort mode, the suspension feel stiffer than in sport mode. At first I thought it was me, until I get different group of people to sit at both front and rear, driving them around on the same road but using different modes. They have confirmed that sport mode feel better than comfort mode, the feedback from rear passengers is "like riding a horse"Experience 2:When we hit uneven road surface (not potholes, not speed humps) or crossing bridges/highway with expansion joints (those stainless steel) in both modes in normal speed 60 to 80km/h, the harsh feedback from the road condition it's like I have no suspension system on the car. Last night I was on my the way to Mid Valley from Bandar Utama using Kerinchi Link, just 700m (or so) away from the toll, I cross the expansion joints (around 70km/h), everyone in the car was like "ouch, that's painful, for your car and my back", I have no problem with my other cars, even in 15 years old Perdana. When I test drove the car 2 months ago, I don't remember is that uncomfortable, if it was, I don't think I would place the order.I was told that may be the new suspension need time to "sink in" a bit, and it will get slightly softer with time? Is this true? hmmmI've done 250km so far.Anyone here have similar experience with the m-sport suspension? Is this normal or is it just me?I appreciate for the feedback and now I am looking forward to join the rusted jackets :)

Well, I don't have the M Sport suspension but I did replaced my stock springs with H&R sports recently. I did find that the ride is better now, less bouncy compared to stock.

Experience 1:
Bit wierd that comfort is stiffer than sports, I thought it would've been the other way round?

Experience 2:
When u mentioned about harsh, does it mean that your car is not bouncing all over the place like a crazy rabbit? :)

Btw, if you don't like your msport, can trade with mine... hahahaha. :p

Check tyre pressure. Most of the PDI folks tend to get over enthusiastic and pump the pressure ridiculously high to achieve the nice round look. Your situation sounds more like a run flat tire more than a suspension issue.

I suspect it is the RFT that's causing the rough ride, not your suspension. don't ever use Conti 18" RFT, they're damn hard; Goodyear is nice..

if you're msport you should have pirelli RFTs, which IMO are pretty good compared to the others (had them on my msport too)

niceric,

I collected my 328i M sport last Saturday at AB, Glenmarie.
I didn't feel the harsh suspension that you mentioned. In fact i took the kerinchi link back home as i stayed near Mid Valley and the ride was smooth. Same feeling with my Volvo S40 2.4i. BTW, i was using the COMFORT mode all that time. I suspect the tire pressure could be the reason. I think we both have the same Pirelli Cinturato P7. I did ask my SA what would be my tire pressure in case i need to pump up, he recommends using 34/35 psia front/rear.

I collected mine 328i m sport 2 weeks back. Drove 1500km so far on NS highway. The wife and kids didnt complained anything about bumpy ride. I think could be the tire too. Same P7.

Check your tyre pressure and then test again. If you still feel the same way then something must be wrong. Send it back to the SC for thorough checking.

Bro pls go to setting on your I drive. Check on your sport mode setting. You can change the suspension, throttle and steering setting from there. I think you may deactivate the sport suspension setting that's why it is softer in sport mode.

FYI mine 328 m sport comfort mode is quite soft and it filter all the bump and uneven road nice and steady. I have tested cruising in 180km/hr in comfort mode and feel safe and steady.

Thanks for all the prompt reply.

I've checked the tyre pressure, in fact it was over inflated.

The ride is so much smoother now, now I can happily enjoy the ride

:)

Thank you very much for all your help! :)

it was bouncing as if we were on horse riding trip!

LOL

When I first collected my E90 from AB Sg Besi back in 2007, drove it for weeks only to realise the tyres were at high 40s PSI.. those basket just simply tick on the PDI check list.. real idiots!

Niceric

Glad to hear you've solved the problem. Mine sharing with us what was the tire pressure?

I am not sure what was the tyre pressure, but it was definitely over 240, I've reduced it down 220 for both front and back

anyone here knows bout the use of nitrogen for tyre?

just have my car checked in AB, they found out that the template for suspension was left there, hence the horse riding experience!

and i am the first customer who complaint bout this!

That's the suspension block. They use it during transportation of the vehicle. Damn! That is really a failed PDI check indeed. Hope it does not cause permanent damage to your car.
