The 325 e90 m sport handles nicely. As for power, I find it lacking. On a Genting run you will see it lacks the grunt when trying to exit corners with a VW Golf GTi. But I find the handling to be better than the Golf or Scirocco, stock v stock ok. Consumption is slightly high but not absurb. A Scirocco TSI with chip will really blast the e90 325. My friend did his Roc up and I can see the difference. At Sepang the Roc would exit corners with gusto. What to do, they have a turbo charger. E90's engine can't push out more power ad its almost maxed out. The parts for an e46 is relatively much cheaper than the e90. As you say the e46 is old now amd a lot of care and attention will be required to nurse it back to life unless you find a gem of a car. I opted for the e90 and not the f30 bcos I felt that the e90 is more sporty and may age better than the f30. F30 has the rich man look, just like the f10. Sensor wise, its about luck. Here we seen e90 brake sensors kaput after a mere 70k. It happens. Not always but it can. With an Audi you may get one where the engine drinks oil, with VW you may get one with a lot of probs too BUT VW has a 5 year warranty unlike BMW. If money is no issue, go with the e90. Then throw in a set of H&R ARBs and you will love the handling.
