Hi, after i have search the forum on rim refurbishing, I wen to Hup Soon last week, after a short discussion they agree to paint and polished my rims. My rims is a 3 piece bbs rs. So i go home and can't wait for the results, they told me it could take about 10 days to finish.after a few days, i received a call form the shop saying for the polished work they can only do it only on the outer area of the small nuts holding the lips, and they advise me to paint the nuts area. I ask them what is the problem. and they say that they did not dare to dismantle the 3 piece rim for polished and paint. They say there will be an issue of leaking after they put back the rim together when finished. They have this experience beforeso after thinking twice i took back my rim and try to find a shop that have experience to refurbish a 3 piece rim. From what i understand it is doable and will not have any leakage issue if do it properly.So anyone have any suggestion? or maybe experience perhaps?

Hi! I have done a complete refurbishment of my BBS RS. All 34 nuts X 4 open with special tools. Polish the nuts and the outer chrome lip. Centre repainted in Bright Silver. Shop is in Bandar Sri Damansara. It's a rims specialist shop.

Finally i decided to go to Shah alam tyre, they willing to do it nicely without opening the rim in pcs. They have done the same thing to few of the forummmer rims. Now waiting for them to finish it. will post pic before and after later.

I would say the workmanship is just slightly above average ( still can see a not very neat paint work between the lips and center piece)but becoz of the very reasonable price i can consider it good(though if really can open the pcs ,the result should be better)

Price : Depends on wheel size but in the region of RM60 upwards & what the customer wants done (per rim)
Any bengkok : Will be repaired based on nos per rim.
His process : 1. Wheels are washed
2. Repair all wheels kerbings
3. Sand blasting the whole wheel inside out
4. Spray under coat
5. Diamond Cut if customer request
6. Spray paint the wheels with 2K
7. Oven bake
Usually the process will take 3 - 4 days. You have to remove tyres and bring the rims only. After collection, let the paint dry for another 2 - 3 days before you fit your tyres.
Multi piece rims can be done too but price is much more due to a lot of additional work involved, application of silicone, polishing of lips and studs.
Note : I am just sharing and does not have any connections with Wheel Recond other that being their client.
