Hi guys. Is there any honest bmw specialist in JB. From my conclusion: 1) M-Technic: I heard they're good at problem solving but cut throat price. 2) BMAuto Permas Jaya: This is owned by Manjeev & Sanjeev. They are indeed kind and all, But recently I think they have got off-coursed and now trying to upsell or hardsell you. Their part prices are directly the USD rates from bmwpartsdirect. I guess it's ok if it's authentic and reasonable. My friend went for plug change, they quoted and insist to change together w coils instead. IMO, Coils are either working or not working. No misfiring or anything. And in the idrive it stated still have around 2,000kms to next oil change. And they insist and strongly recommend to change. ♂️ They're now not as honest as before anymore. My other friend went to them with oil pressure low warning. Without even opening the front Bonet and they said it's a oil pressure sensor issue, and told my friend still can drive just ignore the error. But then my friend went to another shop and found out the Oil Filter was installed wrongly and damaged by his last normal workshop foreman at bukit indah. After replacing oil filter, no more problems. If my friend didn't went to fix it and ignore. Would it somehow cause catastrophic failure of the engine? Thus, bigger bill? BMAuto also do not sell aftermarket parts, which is a bummer cause sometimes it's really design defect or material defect. I recommended my friend to Jmperformance, Tiong emas. They do aftermarket parts, staging. Price of the parts are around 10% more expensive than BMAuto. (I guess due to relationship between supplier) But I'm really looking for a shop that is honest, know what they do. And not only stick to original bmw parts. Sometimes we like to maybe upgrade to alloy parts which doesn't break apart easily, just like how B48 owners upgrade their oil filter housing to alloy after coolant leak. Thanks & appreciate for more comments on the workshop.
