congrats to kimithe new f1 world championjust 1 point seperate him from lewis n alonso..fantastic!

The Ferrari duo did a good job.Massa blocked Lewis on the first corner and took the lead followed by Kimi, then Alonso forced Lewis to go wide on the next corners.

Good job Kimi! He deserves the title. :top:

As for Lewis after he lost his gear due to electronics glitches and drops to 18th place. He fought back briliantly and slowly climbed back to 7th place..and a point short of the championship title.
He is the man to beat next year...awesome race.

As for Alonso......aiseh. Mo ngan dhai!!!! selfish fella.Never like him, never will.:thefinger:

Wuhoo......ICEMAN did it and he deserved it and restored some shine into a very controversial year for F1!

Yes, he let his driving do the talking.

If Hamilton can't win then better Kimi than Alonso. I suppose McLaren deserved to lose, after all they spied on Ferrari. Justice at the end I suppose. Shame we didn't witness history in the making with the first rookie world champ.

Don't be too sure yet. They're scrutinizing the issue on fuel temperature now. Apparently, fuel above the permitted temperature gives extra BHP advantages to the engine. If found guilty, a few drivers will be disqualified hence elevating Hamilton to 4th position and also the F1 Championship.

FIA: BMW, Williams fuel outside rules

The FIA has confirmed that the fuel temperatures of the BMW Sauber and Williams cars were outside the regulations during the course of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

As the race stewards continue to investigate the matter to decide on whether or not a punishment is necessary, a statement issued by technical delegate Jo Bauer revealed the extent of the temperature variation of the cars involved.
Article 6.5.5 of the Formula One technical regulations states: "No fuel on board the car may be more than ten degrees centigrade below ambient temperature."

The statement issued by Bauer showed that Heidfeld's fuel was 13 degrees centigrade lower than ambient at his first stop and 12 degrees centigrade lower at his second stop.

Robert Kubica's fuel varied by 14 degrees, 13 degrees and 13 degrees at his three stops; Nico Rosberg's fuel was 13 degrees and 12 degrees out at his two stops and Kazuki Nakajima's was 12 degrees out at his first stop. His second stop was inside the 10-degree limit.

Spyker technical chief Mike Gascoyne said he believed the variation would have provided a performance advantage.

"It can be five to ten horsepower easily," he told autosport.com. "The car is producing a performance advantage during the race. If they dump fuel in that is below the limit, it is an illegal performance advantage. They should be excluded from the event, there is absolutely no doubt."

The implications of a disqualification for the BMW and Williams drivers would be huge, as it could potentially move Lewis Hamilton up the order into fourth place.

In such a case, Hamilton would be crowned the world championship.

Congrats to Kimi. I'd rather see Kimi win than Alonso purely for what I felt was unsportmanlike conduct from Alonso during the season. It's about time Kimi won the championship after coming so close before.

Anyway, the fuel temperature issue doesn't seem to matter anymore. Quote from BBC site:

But the stewards said in a later statement, issued more than six hours after the end of the race, that there was sufficient doubt about the fuel temperatures "as to render it inappropriate to impose a penalty".

Yeah, I think Kimi deserved to win the world title after some stupendous driving, of course with the assistance of Massa who played as a real team player. And Kimi should have won the title couple of years back if not for McLaren's reliability issues.

As for Hamilton, lady luck finally deserted him with a temporary gearbox problem but as a rookie, he has beaten his illustrious team mate, double world champion Alonso.

As for Alonso, he should go back to Renault, perhaps only Kovalainen will be willing to play second fiddle to him.

i second that!:top:

Kimi deserves to win. He has been fighting very hard. He won by one point. At the beginning of his Mclaren stint, he lost the World Championship to michael Shumacher by 1 point.

As for Hamilton, he has done well. But I think the gear glitches was his doing. Pressure must have got the better of him as he was fumbling with buttons for a short while. After that, he was ok.

Alonso got what he deserved. A real sour puss! He has been trouble for Mclaren and Renault last year. At the press conference, he said he was playing it safe in third position, hoping that the Ferraris would have failures; instead of making a real challenge.

I still think that if he didn't have a chance for the championship; he sure as hell would not allow Hamilton to get it. He would have rather Kimi get it; to teach Hamilton and Mclaren a lesson. This is team spirit!!???

CONGRATS to Kimi... he pushed hard from the beginning of the season and never gave up till the end....

But I really wanted my man Hamilton to win the championship - well, luck just was not on his side last night... but no doubt that he has indeed brought new life to F1... I'm sure more suprises from him awaits next season...

I'm very happy for Kimi. He fought long and hard and finally got what he deserves! For Hamilton, it was as if it was just too good to be true. Hopefully, he fights back to make next season even more interesting.

Hope Kimi fight the second world title on next season.

Yes, I hope too that next season will be even more exciting with other teams improving to challenge the lead. BMW and Renault have both started working on their 2008 cars much earlier. They are in it to be champions, not just for the picnic drive!
