""BMW will spend more time on the road and the Alfa Romeo more time in the workshop" No la..Actually the car is pretty reliable safe for perhaps some fuses probably due to old wiring (cant fit too bright bulbs with these old wiring). These are very simple cars with very little electronics. In fact my Alfa has not been back to the workwhop for months for any mechanical issues. It is also a myth that the carbs need to be tuned regularly as if it is correctly tuned, it should last quite a while. Mine is driven hard daily and has no reliability problems (my E39.....u r a shame at times!!). The Alfa GTA 1.6 used to win all the European Touring car throphies back then beating all the Lotus Continas, BMW 2002 Tiii and the Schnitzer works car. Not bad for a 1.6. Like the article said, both cars offer a different experience. Any O2s out there? Time to exchange notes.... :)
