Dear Seniors,

I plan to go to Pandan Indah Albert Auto to perform my regular oil servicing next month. Is there anything I need to prepare, besides the oil and fuel filter?? Plugs and air-filter has been changed in my previous service.

How much would the costing be for a regular servicing at Albert Auto?? Pardon me for my noob question. This will be my second time servicing the baby. Still new. :)

Bro, have you resolved the worn valves seals? Maybe you should put that as priority. BMW Super Power from BA is RM30 per liter and you need 4 liters. It's the best valued EO for now, as for oil filter it is RM35 Original from BA too. Do make sure Albert help you to the check the followings

1. Flywheel seal
2. Powersteering pump and rack for free play/leaks
3. Brake Pump and fluid
4. Brake pads
5. Engine Compression test and adaptations test via INPA or DIS or other software
6. Condition of radiator expansion tank
7. Heat Exchangers gear box and engine. Please change the gearbox unit if you have the money as if that leaks your gearbox and engine will be filled with water/coolant.
8. Clean your MAF and air filter
9. Lower arm, control arm and etcs
10. Gearbox ATF level

Thank you for checking up on me bro. Glad you still remember me. I haven't done the valve seals yet. The list is quite extensive. I will need to get Albert to check on them. The car is in very good condition. I regularly check the engine oil to keep it in optimum levels at all times, despite the leak. I am concerned on the gearbox ATF level though. I notice clear-coloured oil leaks every now and then. And the heat exchangers. I think I will have to pay you a visit. :)

The gearbox is filled with PetroCanada D VI so it is best to top up with the same. I still have 3/4 of 4liters bottle with me, if you want you can buy that from me. If you to flush, then do replace with BMW ATF D III, you can get it from BA too.

Morning all.

Anyone have outside temperature sensor up for grab? Mine's kaput already since the OBC stated 50 celcius. My mechanic quoted RM185 which I believe is quite pricey.

The 395060 is just receipt number....

For the brand of axle oil I didn't actually specific with the foreman, so I have no idea either....

Hey guys. Im sure this may have been discussed deep within this topic. But im just wondering, will regular service and maintenance of a manual e46 be cheaper than the auto transmission? Or r the parts n oil services the same.

Depends ... BMW MTF2 (manual transmission fluid) will cost around 600 plus for 5 litres

But if you use Redline MTL or Royal Purple the cost will be considerably cheaper ... much cheaper.

Either way it's cheaper than maintaining auto gbox ... Tho i've never own a bmw with automatic gearbox :) So i may be wrong but i doubt it lol

I see. Thanks for the response. Correct me if im wrong, for auto transmission, one wud use ATF instead of MTF, right? Oh im such a sucker in car knowledge. Haha..

How much it cost for e46 fuel filter and transmission oil? Anyone? As above, the picture shows only 68 for fuel filter?
Anyone have an idea of difference between Bavarian auto and auto bavarian?
Can I ask a question again. Can e46 hold on hill? If yes, what makes it unable to hold on hill?

This is a car I just bought and took it to Savemart in USJ. First time there. Those parts were recommended to change. Maybe should have taken to my regular workshop instead.
