My unit is one of the dumbed-down trim that doesn't come with board computer stalk. Thanks to bro Zidee, the stalk was acquired. After installation of the stalk itself, the feature needs to be enabled through programming. I'm using DIS for programming, so if you don't have one, you might want to visit the mechanic for it.The car is an E46 N42 MY2002.Remove battery to not raise airbag alarm after installation[IMG]I'm on 4 spoke steering, remove two torx screws on each side to remove airbag and steering buttons[IMG]off[IMG]Remove bolt with wrench[IMG]Note the steering center marking[IMG]Remove top clip[IMG]Remove bottom clip[IMG]Pry open console and remove four torx screws to release slip ring[IMG]Three connectors to the slip ring[IMG]The turn signal connector already have four wires, the non-BC stalk uses only three[IMG]Pin difference between BC (left) and non-BC (right) stalkhttp://i791.photobucket.com/albums/yy197/aidilj/board-computer/IMG_3069_G.jpgRemove the non-BC stalk, install the BC stalk and reverse installation. This is one of the reason to bring up DIS

Hopefully with all the information, I would be able to drive economically..

Exactly the question. I don't know. Maybe it is something on the options list. Does everyone else have BC?

Just did this mod following Aidil's DIY and a few other guides as reference as I have a sports steering. Anyway, it was pretty straight forward.

Now the problem is I'm a little disappointed that the BC button only shows three functions and does not unlock the hidden functions. Oh well, anyway had a good father-son bonding time doing it.

    Salut

Glad to know this. What hidden functions you expect to unlock?

Engine RPM, engine temperature...you know the ones you have to unlock with code 19 in the test menu on the dashboard.

Hi Bro aidilj, great DIY. Mine is the same model as yours and has no BC also. Yes, like to know how much did u pay for the stalk and where can i buy it? I dont think i have that kind of patience and knowledge to DIY and will probably need someone to do it for me.

Bro solo, other parameters are not supported. I was also interested in digital speedo but found out that it is impossible

Hey Bro, I got the stalk from a fellow forumer who is currently also seeking for an E46, it was sold at a reasonable price. You can try chop shop bro, hakitrade? This same part is shared with a few other models like E38, E39.. installation is fairly straight forward, let me know if help is needed with coding.

Not only fun but useful. You can use NCS Expert to do the coding as well.
