My mechanic has condemned my E46 engine and advised to swap a recond one.

1. How much does such an engine cost , plus any other parts that are necessary?

2. After swap i'm told have to register the different engine with JPJ. Anybody done this before, and how difficult the procedure?

2. Can i sell the car without working engine? Who will buy such car?

Appreciate any advice the sifus here can give me.

Used engine price is about there. If you are getting it from a chopshop, make sure they provide some kind of warranty. Do bear in mind, since the engine is out of the car, you might want to refresh its seals, gaskets etc. additional cost.

Yes, by right you will need to register the new engine. If the purchase of the engine is proper, you’ll be provided with the necessary customs forms by the seller for registration purposes. Complete the necessary documents, check at Puspakom once approved, JPJ will endorse.

Yes you can sell the shell of the car. Normally it’ll be sold as project parts.
