They never sold the 530d here in Malaysia, and I don't think anyone bothered with importing these back then, especially when diesel wasn't as popular locally during the E39's heyday.....

I love reading this article time and time again since I got it a couple of years ago.

One of the reasons I decided to bring back a 530i from UK

"....if you can afford a little more, then the 530i is easily the best all-round E39 money can buy. The engine is as sweet as you like, it really will do everything that you need and just a little more."

"....the 530i had one of the finest petrol engines money could buy, smooth, powerful and just loved to rev."

Hi Haywire, i realised even the strongest one is not as potent compared to your slow racun over time, articulate and nicely presented in the e39 sticky thread. Myself is another willing victim of the e39 530i purchase, happily overdosed by your posted threads. Thank you.

I made the decision to buy my e39 after stumbling on this article in the net.

After the e39, felt that I just have to get a copy of the magazine and I ordered it from UK; you know, the back issues of BMW Car magazines.

    Now I am fully contented.

very true. i like the last sentence. petrol engine though lose out at low end torque to diesel engine, but win at total horsepower due to its ability to rev to high rpm that translate into better horse power at high speed.

Damn makan the racun already. Just bought the backcopy (why didn't I think of this before I dont know?) for £7 (£5 backcopy, £2 shipping) on this website

Bought a copy from them before (the Aegean and Champagne edition feature) and it took about a week to get here.

I downloaded most of them, so far no issues. I recommend you load one at a time, or no more than two links at a time.
