Shern, u mentioned ur car is pre-reg, then there‘s oredi a plate on ur car, say “A“. Now u wish to get a new number for the car, say “B“. That‘s termed as “interchange“ lor.

Correct me if I‘m wrong, local law does not allow interchange 2 existing registered plates.. one of them MUST be a new plate.

I registered the new number (wwf 33xx) at JPJ Wangsa Maju and pass it to SA to do the interchange. SA told me the existing number (wwe 5913) will be registered for BMW motorcycle. Go for good running number..come early to buy the number if you have preferred number submit for tender then.

the term used is INTERCHANGE.u have a pre-regged number on your car.
You wish to get NEW number, hence u need to get it on a NEW vehicle i.e motorcycle.
then only you interchange it between the two.
    thats what i did.

my SA quoted me 1600 too.price diff depends on how much your local motorcycle shop charge you for u to register a number on of their motorcycle.
(so they can sell it as pre-reg motorcycle at slightly lesser price, just like how we buy the pre-reg cars..)

if MYR500 saving is not worth for you, might as well get them do it.

I checked mine just now. It was held tight. Should not move at all. Should be sturdy.

    AC blower fan speed regulator

    2007 E90 320i N46B20, mileage 68k km.

Anyone experienced AC fan speed problem before? Mine is stuck at 1st AC fan speed and not reacting to higher fan speed input. Even "MAX" setting doesn't alter the speed. Googled it and all pointed the fault to the "Blower Regulator", some called it final stage unit, FSU or blower resistor. A phone call to the part supplier said it will cost me RM350 for a non-original replacement while an original unit will cost RM600. Anyone has experience to share? or can there be any other faults?

I manage to remove the item, less than 5 minutes DIY, took the thing out, clean it, re-installed and problem presist.. :20:

Item 2 in the diagram.. Part code: 69119146765
    [IMG]

Mounted to the side of the blower..

    Connector removed..

3 input wires, 2 output to the blower motor.

Internal view.. clean, nothing looks burnt..

the metal should be heatsink, you may further remove the screw, check any component (resistor/regulator) hide in between the PCB and heatsink...

I was thinking of doing that but normally the transistor that heats up is attached to the heat sink with some compound like our computer CPU, which I didn't have at that time, so I scrap the idea. U think I should open them to inspect further? The capacitor doesn't look bloated though which normally the case with damaged capacitors.

you should further inspect, at least you still have chance not to replace the whole unit :D
Hm.. that power capacitors shouldn't be the root cause...

Haha.. i come find u. u help me check. can? :4:

Dun think caused by loose components cause all coated with lacquer la.

Update: I took the module out again as suggested just to inspect the covered surface of PCB. However, I had problem open the screw because it's coated with the PCB lacquer, very tight. Gave up in the end. Planned to buy a replacement module to plug in and see what happen.

bro, really gave up? Actually this is common problem of E90, usually SC will just replace the whole FSU, but you've done more than others, you are truly DIY king... :top:
If you going to get a new one, do you think possible to pass me the old one, may be we could figure out something that might benefit other next time ... :4:

    Hi all sifus,
Urgently in need of advise here. Today my engine suddenly stalled / turned off right after push started the engine for about 10 seconds. Then when I push started the engine again, it seemed everything normal again. Did anyone had such experience? Thanks

I kena twice, heavy rain, push start, engage "D", leggo brake, engine stalled the moment the car started to roll. Put to "P" and hit the start button again.. then no problem after that. The second time also in a cold rainy evening. Something like idling too low after started because leg was never on the gas pedal ma. Got to press the brake pedal during start up and engage "D" but when shifted leg to gas pedal, engine just choked..

By the way, I replaced the blower regulator, blower speed still can't be regulated.. now suspecting blower motor. It can spin but very heavy load, dunno normal or not.. :(

Spoken to Ingress d.. they will do some research and let me know what they can find out from their specialist/technician and repair database... very helpful bunch. :top:
