Waiting to sign off the loan agreement and the "baby" will be all mine. The first thing I need to do is change to some new rubber. Current tyre set up
  • Front 235/45 R19
  • Rear 255/40 R19
  • Planning to make quick trip down south. Is it worth the trouble??
Will post some pictures later. As normal can't wait.

Welcome to the club!

What brand of tyres are you looking at I wonder? Would love to know as well. Keep us here updated.

Pictures of new ride

Finally, last Thursday took delivery of my new ride. Attach some pictures.
Upgrades exercise completed:
- full car tinting with security film
- installed rear camera with 7" monitor attached to rear view mirrior (avoided using nav screen as monitor because shops quoting RM2,500/2,800 just for the interface module).

To be done, new tyres. Planning Singapore trip this weekend.

Took a drive down to Malacca yesterday. Car performed well but due to tyre condition took it easy.
Had the Napster apps switched on. Certain areas had no 3G coverage. Where possible Napster did indicate the speed cameras but on certain ocassions could not sight the cameras. Will wait to see if I receive any summons over the next few weeks.

You installed a new rear view mirror? All in all how much did this cost you?
Appreciate if you can snap the rear view camera placing at the back and also the video feed at the mirror.
Wiring all concealed?

Herewith photos of the reverse camera set up.
The camera with its wide angle gives an excellent view of the area behind. (photo 3)
The location of the camera was professionally done. At a first glance, onlookers will not sight the camera. (photo 1)

The wiring for the camera was concealed very well. The only sight of any cable is behind the rear view mirror (ie monitor). (photo 4)
The cables were hidden behind the door rubbers.
I am quite happy with the workmanship. It cost me RM 580 for the camera & monitor. The monitor can also be used to watch video (if one wishes to do so).

I wouldn't be facing this problem anytime soon as my dealer already put in a new set when I bought it albeit a bit different from the recommended set up (Front: 235/50 R18 as recommended - Back: 245/45 R18 instead of 255/45 R18 ).
But wonder if 18" would be as bad? Understand shanbala's were for 19".

After hearing about it, first thing came to my mind was to check what's the tyre set up for the F25 X3. Went to BMW Malaysia's website, but to download brochure also must register with email address et all. Aiyohh. Too much work. Hahaha. But I'm guessing it's totally different tyre set up...

Shanbala, very cool man. Congrats on the new ride....
I just bought my first BMW also, an 05' X3 sport, 3.0i.
Just a couple of issues so far; 1. The panoramic roof either jumped track or a gear is broken. It won't retract into the roof at the left rear corner, now searching for a shop to fix it in JB. 2. The TPMS light is on all the time (In red not yellow, not sure what the difference means though).
But I love the car, it drives and handles great, so a few minor issues (Especially in a 7 year old car) are not unexpected. I will sort them and post some pics soon.

Cheers,
Jon
