m6 or carrera 4s: feedback appreciated

Guys, i've moved to dubai since feb and am planning to take advantage of the cheap(er) car prices here....currently considering either an m6 or porsche carrera 4s. test drove the m6 over the weekend, the carrera will follow. what do you guys think?

Porsche, is a Porsche. M6 ain't a Porsche.

M6 has a lovely V10, and the sound is great. However, it will feel much heavier in corners, as it is much bigger. My friend went from an E46 M3 to the E63 M6, and he said the M3 felt so much better in corners. M6 does handle well, but am just saying its not as nimble as I like due to its size.

The Carrera 4S (I am assuming you are talking about the 997) will have more than enough poke, and will also be better in the corners, ie handle better. Wont sound as nice as the M6 (In my opinion), but I personally feel it will be a better drive.

Depends what you are looking for. The M6 is lovely, more of a GT, the C4S a very useable everyday sports car, with that bit extra in the handling dept

Yes it is part of the 911 family, but I wasnt sure if you meant the 911(996) C4S, of the newer 911(997) C4S :top:

Both the 996 and 997 are great, but of course with the 997 you have the benefit of a newer model

Porsche! Get the new Carrera 4S, or if looking for used get a Turbo, GT2 or GT3. These are collector's cars and you won't go wrong with any one of them.

I understand the option to consider the M6, but why a carrera 4s? I personally prefer the kick from a RWD, especially a RWD Porsche. =D Why not consider a GT2 or a Turbo?

Carrera 4s is not full-time AWD.
You can get "the kick" from the car too, and even oversteer with Traction control off.

If you work in Dubai and you want to look like a parey (Filipino) drive an M6. Nanti tak pasal-pasal kena kutuk. If you want to look like a real professional expat, get the carrera 4s. All my friends in Dubai drive Porsche. They even had their names embroidered on the head rest - all the way from Stuttgart! This is what I call "style". If I were you, skip the carrera 4s, go straight to GT3.
