It got a lots of different caliper design.Does anyone knew how reliable it is and any specific model that can suit E30?It does mention in the advert. that the price start at RM3K onward. Any indicator price for E30.Thanks

RM3K.... different caliper design..... I havent seen the advert but are these for performance calipers? i.e. 2,3,4 > piston (aka pot) calipers? Is that caliper only or with rotors and mounting bits? Front only or both fr and rr?

Anyway, IMHO RM3K sounds pricey dude..... especially if for your E30..... maybe u can build yr own performance brake set? e.g. DBA grooved vented rotors (circa RM1K) + pagid/mintex/EBC pads (circa >rm350-400) + goodrich hoses (i am guessing circa RM600-800), ATE super blue fluid (circa RM50 or more) + caliper rebuild kit (RM?).... that should be quite nice already and still under RM3K especially if u shop around....

Cheaper still National cross drilled and grooved venteds at circa RM500 or ATE grooved venteds at RM400-500 + zntrum rs pro hoses prolly less than RM500 or close.....

Anyways "Grippen" unlikely to cover E30..... I am guessing....

shedden has it in his car...maybe u can contact him ...sat in his car b4..all i can say is it is as good as a brembo...i was told grippen mufacture stop tech too!

they don't have kit for the E30... but they do have the kit for the E36 ;) ...
If u really want to have this in the E30, must convert to 5 lugs using E36 front struts and E36 compact rear arms...

i talked to the guys at lynks in sunway....they have grippen there and they said that its not worth putting them unless you are going to have loads of horses and torque in your car.

as fabian said....a 5 lug conversion will cost you a bit, then you must find rims that will fit your new calipers. In the end big hole in your pocket.

Strider: If you want better calipers talk to Ichiwan...he has done a caliper conversion using the calipers of a volvo 240 (girling). i dont know the details bcoz i didnt get a chance to talk to him about it at the last 3er gathering. but i am not sure if the e21 disc size is the same as the e30.

:) saw an Evo8 with Veilside bodykit using Grippen brakes in front of Links in Sunway today.wonder how much these cost??

someone claimed he got offered 6-7k for both front and rear.. for e46.. if that's true, i'd say it's damn cheap compared to other bbk!!

adliz : issint shedden usin those grippen?

If anyone here has pics besides Shedden's 355mm 6pot system, it's me.

Grippen is made from the same people who manufacture for Stoptech. share the same everything. My sources say the manufacturer is from Taiwan.

I was supposed to get them on mine, since it's a essentially a E36 strut which also share the same brake fittings with the E46.

So, the E46 will Fit the E36 vice versa.

I opted for the 355mm 6 pot calipers.
unfortunately, my 18s barely misses the brakes. it seems that the calipers shaves the wheel wall. i guess with some machining to the calipers, it will fit.

They said i shouldn't put them on and they will order a 335mm ones. They haven't got back to me, so....

anyway, here are the pics.
