Truelah.... the event could have been better organised and the present Committee members should have made this a compulsory event for their own attendance. For the sake of Newbies and those who have joined the Forum in the past year, there should have been a deliberate attempt to introduce the Committee, the Advisors and the Moderators. This is essential to maintaining accountability, transparency and also just good society/club governance. Thats just in terms of an "ice-breaker". In terms of having an itenary, the speeches by the VIP's is an almost "must" for any such car club gathering. Also, a speech by the highest ranking Committee member and a speech by the head of the event organising committee. It looked like there was some form of an itenary present....but it was solely for the Voting of the Car ballot. Even then, at 645pm there was still no sign of its results. Obviously, this could have been handled in a better manner. Since there were sponsors involved and the monies exchanged hands, it is only natural that the Committee account for it. It was mentioned that the sponsorship monies were used to entertain the VIP's. In this case, the forum members have a right to know who these VIP's are. Also, there is a corporate/society/club responsibility to state how much was spent on the VIP's and how much was put into the club's funds. Transparency and Accountability are key facets for any responsibly run society/club. This should be practiced inlight of the pending Register of Societies application. In terms of PR/Newspaper/Media coverage...there should have been a clear indication to the members of the Forum if any of the shots taken are/were going to be used for advertising purposes. This is essential as there are members who's cars are used by Sponsors for various other products etc. This "notice" is practiced by the UK BMW club and also some Chapters of the US club. Obviously, there are many other areas which could be improved and which no doubt other members would discuss at length..... the above are merely cursory observations on my part. Cheers!
