G20 auto headlights unable to be turned off

Hi all. I've a 2021 G20 330i. Car's been superb all round with the new techs installed making it a perfect upgrade from my previous F30 328i. However there is one, ie auto headlights, which seem to be a tad annoying. It seems there is no way to manually disable the "auto" function to turn on/off the headlights. At night, even if you wanted to start the car without turning on the headlights it would not allow you to. Wondering if it's just mine or others have faced the same? BMW SA mentioned this is normal btw.

is true u cant turn off the headlight even switch the knob to 0
