I was like you bro - using wax all the way until one of the detaling shops had a Permanon promo so I tot why not try and see since its cheap. I'm on my second coat now as the first one was applied by the detailers back in August 2013. Here are my impressions on the coating. - It can only last around 6 months or lesser (if you park your car out in the open all the time) with all our rain coming down during monsoon season. I think applying it during the dry season will give you slightly longer period of effectiveness. Mine lasted around 8-9 months as my car was mostly parked away from sun and rain. - Does not protect against stone chips and water marks are still present when it dries unless you are hardworking enough to wipe away excess water especially when you don't drive it and its parked there under the rain next to a main road where there is much dust then you see all the water marks mixed with dust. - Easier to clean bird poops and other dirty stuff. -Once you apply the coating, maintenance of the coat is easy. You just wash like normal and wax/polish not required like other coating. Love the fact that when you drive around 90kmh your car is beading and when you arrive at your destination say in a basement or somewhere covered, your car isn't as wet as other cars and it looks like the rain is washing the car for you. Its actually pretty easy to apply Permanon. All you need is to just mix the solution with water and spray onto the paint until you see the water solution starts to bead then you wipe dry. Its the prep work that is tiring as you need to remove every single dirt stain including tar before you apply the coating. Having a clay bar helps. But saying that, I think I will only use Permanon if they have a promotion for it and I'll let the pros do it for me. Too lazy to do it myself and I kinda left my car without any coating or wax for 6 months and all the road tar started piling up on the paint and it was a nightmare to remove each one of it.
