yo all..I was reading BMW Car mag and came a across an article showing Technik project car which was the 330i M-sport. what catches my attention was that the car came with Euro style tail lights which are smoked, unlike those on CKD or even CBU 3's. straight away I searched the internet and found the below in e-bay. looks nice huh...think we should change to it ?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E90-3-serie-black-smoked-blackline-tail-lights-line_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33716QQitemZ250100069933QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVWcheers

mnas, where have you been? We've discussed the OEM blacklines many times in our various E90 discussion threads :)

Anyways, they are the OEM accessory Blacklines tail lights. They are plug and play and come with all bulbs. Installation is a 15 minute DIY job. Blacklines are not regional specific, one part fits all markets.

I've had them on my sparkling graphite car for a year now. They match dark colored cars best but I've seen them work well with white, silver and arctic.

They are a very popular upgrade! Go for them!

Anyone knows where to get them in KL or PJ area and at what price?

Try and check with the parts department of your local dealers and other OEM parts suppliers.

The part number is: Blackline lights (sedan): 63 21 0 406 678

DIY: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4660

Current pricing in the US is $170-$250...price varies so negotiate/search around. Also try SG or Thailand dealers/suppliers.

It's a matter of personal preference of course, but I'm sorry, mnas' ebay link only shows me how much the blacklines makes the E90 rear look common. I much prefer the original avantgarde unfinished look which is striking to me. :p

With the blacklines, the car looks more like Japanese car. No more continental look.

You're all out of your minds :p

On my SG, with tints, ain't no way my rear end looks like a honda ;) Blacklines are hawt!

Personal pref KL2DC, but David's thoughts mirror mine. Perhaps in GM/Ford/Chrysler-land, the view looks different, but here almost all cars are Jap or look Jap. With the original lights one can spot an E90 a km away on the highway. With the blacklines, I'm not so sure. Sorry man!

With blacklines, from far it looks like Toyota Vios! That is the comment from some people. But with the original lights, you can definitely tell it is the new BMW 3 series...

However, I have to agree that the blacklines do looks good with dark colour BMW...

Curses on all of you :p

I googled up vios, I forgot what they look like...I have to concede (a little), the blacklines do look like the tails on that car...sort of. LOL Especially on lighter colored cars.

I still maintain that on the right color, blacklines (and debadging) do make the rear end look wider and eliminates the pinched butt look of the standard tail lights. I think the rear treatment is the weakest part of the car, stylistically. There is too much tension in the lines especially in darker cars (contrast between the lights and the body highlights this). That's why blacklines are a popular mod on darker cars, the blacklines designs 'eases' this design tension.

Also I love how they fit with the character line that runs down the side of the car. They look well integrated and cohesive. The stock lights almost seem like afterthought.

No la, not that bad that it looks like a Vios la! Shame on you KL2DC for conceding that!

It's a matter of personal taste. The pinched butt look (good way to put it) is what makes it for me. Bangle makes the butts of the present BMW range look very different from all the cars out there and I think that's really great in this copycat age. It's love it or hate it. Of the 3, 5 and 7, I still can't like the butt of the 5, but I love the 3 and 7. What can I say?

It's just that some like the blacklines look, some don't. That's all.
