Quite common those cracked wires exposed. Typically during heavy rain your ABS light is out. Once its get dry and you switch of an on again, the light is off. There are 4 sensors on each wheel. Diagnostic will tell you the problem. Before spending for new one perhaps you may want to check the sensor and wiring. Behind the disc brake. Clean it with contact clearer and perhaps wrap those expose wires with tape. Make sure the 2 wires is not in contact with each others. Can change new wire that you can buy  really cheap.
