BMW plastics kinda get brittle after 20 years or so. Solution: Selleys epoxy cement. It's kinda like clay/plaster. Superglue back the bracket and re-inforce by building it up with cement.<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v402/darylchan/Image014small.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />SI batteries were a pain to get to. Buried in the innermost recesses of the gauge cluster. The meters sit on their own PCB. The SI has its own sub-PCB under the main one. The batteries are soldered in and sealed with glue. BMW kindly used lithium batteries but even those dont last forever. Solution: De-solder the tabs from the bottom of the PCB and cut thru the glue.
