BBS RX 18 inch swap ???

Bummer !!!Just picked up my ride earlier today and my gal pal left the current wheels/tyre set up for me. This wud be 225/40/18 Yoko ES100 with about 85% thread intact matched to mint cond. BBS RX rims.As much as I love the looks and grip, this is not practical given the kinda roads I'm on most of the time especially the industrial estates and etc in Johor. If anyone is keen on a swap - my wheels & tyres to yours ( 17 inch rims & rubbers ) naturally, do PM with details. Prefer BBS rims but hey - no harm in trying rite ??? Err ... anyone has 17 inch BBS RX to let go ??? PLEASE !!! Cheers.

How thoughtful of you ... was just surfing for a nice pic of the RX. Nice one you got there. I hate to part with the 18s but the head keeps saying 17s while heart's cryin out for the 18s.

Does anyone know what sort of prices used 17 inch RXs fetch these days ? Gosh ... this is gonna be harder than I thought.

Actually i think the RX's will do fine. I'm running on 18" RK's and they've held up to notorious Klang Valley potholes and speed humps from Subang to PJ to KL city centre. And no, i dont pussy foot around everything. I ran a check a fortnight ago and there's been no dent or damage on all 4 corners after 2+ years now. Why dont you give it a go?

Hey 3er,

That's reassuring ... I guess the JB roads are not as bad as some that I have encountered in KL/ PKL/PJ area. Mite just hang on it for a while and see how it goes.

JB roads are indeed much much better than in PJ / KL !! You definitely don't as many stutter bumps, MOG speed bumps and surprise pot-holes.

Anyway, I got my RX 17" for less than RM3k new in Hup Shun, Sunway. Comes with the carbon-fibre BBS centre caps, BBS valve caps and BBS wheel bolts. Not sure if they have anymore at that prce.

After the kinda weather we've been having these coupla weeks in JB, come see some of the roads here, man. I'm pussy footing around these 2 days. Each of my Yokos will cost me about RM 675.00 a piece if I ruin them ... gulp !!!

Err ... you wanna swap your 17s to mine or not ?

C'mon Van! Have a little more faith in them BBS's. I'm running cheaper rubbers and they are still ok. (Just dont ever underinflate them and you'll be fine.)

I've decided to keep them 18s. It's been 3 days since I picked the car up and the sight of those RX filling the arches is growing on me. The Yoko's are a touch more noisy but I guess a set of Precedas for the next tire change shud do the trick

Tyres are making some noise ... yeah but will probably do some sound insulation - Dynamat and Wuerth materials.

That's cos you have a better than stock set up. BTW, picked up my Naka MB100 HU today. The sub ... deciding between a CDT HE120 or a Kicker Comp 12. Front compies at interim wud be Affan's ol Monitor Audio Car 5 ...

Looks like the Scans, Genesis and IDMax set up will have to wait ... for a while only ler.
