BMW Connect between E90 and iPhone 4S

Hi, Anyone tried the Apple app "BMW Connect" before?

I plugged mine into the USB of my E90 but it gives me error that it is not able to connect.

Tried. Doesnt work. BMW Connect is for the newer generation iDrive for the new F10, F30, etc. Dont think its on the E90.

BMW Connected App in iphone? from what i understand, it requires your system to have the optional application called "App" (if am not wrong, software upgrade = additional $$). Then with it only you can use the BMW Connected App in your iphone, where you can access your FB & twitter acct, calendar item on your iphone, etc.

normally, by plugging your iphone into the USB (via the arm rest) should be able to access all the music in your phone..
can surf internet via your iphone data also...
or, stream via bluetooth also can...

As for the "App" upgrade - I will check with the dealer and see what & how much will it take to enable that function.

One point tho - I am used to the Garmin interface in my old car but can never quite understand or like the BMW satnav.

what i found out fiddling with the idrive...
1. to surf the internet, make sure the services is enabled
2. pair your iphone with the idrive, ensure you enable data transfer (you should have 3 icons lighted)
3. switch on your iphone's personal hotspot
4. surf away!

for the "app", you can contact a vendor in this forum, i got mine done!
as for the satnav, am relying on the garmin... heck, waze on the iphone has more points!
