    E34 m50 engine TDC and Locking tools is important?

    Hello there, anyone could tell me is it important lock & using TDC before remove the head bolt or remove the camshaft?

    at figure 4 (Locking Tools) at the picture and figure 35 (TDC)
    also its a non vanos engine..
    im having a D.I.Y project here so hope anyone could tell me about it..thanks..

    bro... be carefull.. its important to lock/TDC.. and you may need special tools there.

    figure 4 is the flywheel locking tool to prevent the bottom end from moving around. you can make out any std hand tools for that purpose. figure 35 is the procedure for TDC, camshaft and tensioner chain setup.

    What do you want to DIY?

    yea the tools is expensive so im doing without tools here if can. But i already look for research and there ppl can do it without tools...
