Fabian, was it a tii? Cant really see from the pics. It will also be interesting to know the fates of JQ2002 (sold circa 1986 to a young malay guy) and BAW5550 (sold circa 1985 to a dentist). For info, the car JQ2002 was at the Bimmerfest ata Sunway recently....
don't know whether it's a tii... The car was on sale a couple of months back... Not sure whether sold aledi or not...
It's blue, pretty decent looking! Hope that I can make mine up and running as well. Been idle for a few years now.

Nicely Renovated 2002 ... Part 2 Hi classic lovers! Just want to flash some news to liven up Classic thread.... I'm now the proud owner of this metallic fjord blue 2002 Tii.... Have been driving around the last couple of months until one of the pump leaks (not a grease monkey and not sure what pump it is.. hehehe..) and now waiting for my busy mechanic to fix it... To kill any curiosity.. its not a Kugelfisher fuel injected model, just plain twin carbs... I bought this beauty from a friend of the previous owner who I heard spent a bundle to restore... I'm old-school and just plain love the all original restoration.. Questions and comments welcome!!!! Barry
Hi naharnms! Belum lagi bro... my mechanic too busy to look it as its not an urgent case..:argh: Need to find another reliable mechanics who's handy with classsics... Any recommendations out there????
Congrats on your buy If it's BAQ2002, then it's an original tii. Just that the Kugelfisher was ditched in place of a brand new twin carb Weber DCOE40 for reliability. The chassis number will confirm its origins. And the engine is also original. My friend and I had great fun restoring it. Half a container worth of original parts from Germany, 12 months of hardwork, details right down to the engine bay stickers.
Thanks Esterix for the kind input! It was love at first sight as I was hunting around for one for some time ... Glad to know that you and your buddy put in all the hard work and kept it all original... The rebuilt was just awesome...You and your buddy deserved a pat on the back!! My busy-all-the-time mechanic was supposed to help fix the engine jerk when you accelerate in 1st and 2nd gear... still not done and now I just discovered that the clutch pump has leaked and the clutch no longer works... Can you or your buddy help to fix the problems? Do PM your contact number as we should arrange to meet up for teh tarik! Cheers! Barry
Apologies for not chiming in earlier. Been really busy and not had the time to check the forum. I travel quite extensively, hence it will be a challenge catching up, even for a teh tarik. Here is my advise. It sounds like the twin webers need retuning and balancing. You may wish to look for a good Alfa specialist, or any other old school mechanic, to do this. Unfortunately the sifu who did this for us came out of his retirement, just to do this car, and has since gone back to hibernation. The carbs were brand new - so don't let anyone tell you they need replacement for refurbishment. As for the clutch pump, any competent mechanic should be able to replace that for you. No rocket science. If you are in search of an original part and can;t find it, let me know and I'll point you back to Germany
Thanks esterix for the kind reply and also advise! My mechanic told me the car will be picked up this week! Hope to update you again once I hear from my mechanic after the repair! Cheers!
