I thought a lot of the imported 730 (and many other models) are facelifted for marketing objectives. Dealers like that because of easier to sell. Performance wise , most of the time is zilch.
Hi EL118, Alot of my friends are telling me to trade in the 730 as it looks old! Do you get that sort of remark? Is it too much chrome linings? I was thinking of keeping the car for another year but I am getting worried incase trading in time becomes a 'i told you so' situation. The best trade in i had so far is only from auto-bavaria or from audi. Some places don't even want it. Do you have any good ideas?
pre facelift model does look very old, especially the headlights. Is yours pre or post facelift? Post facelift look so much better (at least i feel so).the comment i received mostly positive.
It is facelift:love: Any models you are looking to upgrade in the near future? Any places to look at? I have gone to two used luxury car dealers (one in Kajang and the other at One Utama) they were not keen on taking as trade in!
I think an official member on this forum is looking for one. his nick is ssman. if yours is facelift model, why in a hurry to change? the new F02 without M-sport bumper look not convincing. u changing camp to new S-class next year or A8?
Sorry for late reply. Long work hours + chari makan :ridinghorse: I saw a nice S class and a 7 series , both current models for sale. Both I think are excellent in its own way. The problem is the roads I take now have a lot of potholes and mild flooding due to many heavy lorries and construction projects nearby. I took a ride in a 3liter 2012 Hilux and was surprise it drove quite well. Now wondering if our Bmw X is better or????? btw, many of my friends cannot tell the difference with the facelift or preface lift 730! ... sigh But I still keep my car nice and shiny.
hi guys, just wanted to checked if your cars need a top up in engine oil in between changes? i have to top up every 4500 km or so...
Mine no need. i changed engine oil every 8k or 4 months, normally still at maximum. only once i saw on the screen 2 notch below maximum level (between max and min were 4 notchs) was after i drove down to Singapore at very high speed, depressing the accelator all the way. I am using Shell Helix ultra 5w40
Hi Bro EL118, mind to tell me where you service your car, i got my E66 a month ago, i the changed engine oil and brake fluid 2 weeks ago that cost me RM998, now i send it to AB to replace the rear hydraulic suspension which is still under warranty, the technician told me that i need to change both front arm and rear lower arm, i was thinking to get a second opinion, thank!
I service in Klang. since you are at puchong you may try Sunway Autobahn Mr Tan tel: 016-3327687. honest young Boss!
well, with the price they quoted, can buy a second hand car. one good thing is they give 2 years warranty.
Update on 2nd year of ownership (Travelled 25,000 km) Total done during past 12 months 1) service 3 times with synthetic oils 2) Change aircon blower + regulator RM1,180 3) Change ATF oil RM350 + Pan Filter RM295 4) Change Belt tensioner / V-belt and pulley RM850 5) Change rear window motor RM650 6) FLush coolant and change thermostat Total RM6,658 B/f RM8,382 Total c/f RM15,040 1st set of Pireli tyre were worn out after 40,000km, with rear tyre centre worn out faster. now second set travelled 25,000km still 45% left. one thing i noticed was that the rear tyre centre worn out faster than side again, normally this problem is due to over inflation. i used to follow strictly the recommendation of BMW of which rear pressure is 250 and front 220. now seemed like not necessary to follow the recommended 250 at rear unless you always travelled with passenger.
Where to service BMW in Klang? Hi EL118 - I stay in Setia Alam and have E46. May I know where do you send your car for service in Klang?
Hi ttshoe, it sometimes depends on what is needed to be done. i have been to many service centres including Klang, subang, PJ, KL. some highly recommended by this forum that charge very high price but workmanship is poor Some of my bad experience including i)after changing vanos seal, the whole vanos not moving, had to bring it back to them. ii) another occassion one sucker recommended i changed all water hoses of which i duly obliged, and when i return 4 months later for next service, they called up and recommended again i should change all hoses. i querried them that i had changed at their place few months back, then they said ok no need. wtf iii) charge me high price for ori brake pad but use OEM one. For now, i mostly bought the Ori parts by my own, including BMW oil and ask my mechanic friend to service for me (who is very good mechanic though not specialised in BMW) i found it no problem especially normal service like change engine oil, change brake pad, disc, hoses etc which are very mechanical. i also visit one shop in Batu Belah who specialised in BMW and Benz, shop name is Kong En Lai, boss is Vincent HP: 016-216 7208. i would not say they are excellent but at least price are reasonable.
