i've been reading all the comments here, still very pro bimmers la here... i do own a W202 as well for some years now... it gives equally the same satisfaction as bimmers actually, the only point that i will agree is the amount of $$$ spent on my bimmer is way more than the Merc. I wouldn't say parts or maintenance is cheaper but for sure my Merc parts doesnt fail as often as the bimmer... its a diff driving pleasure alltogether, the comfort level in the Mercs are one thing which the bimmers are off no match.. but of coz when it comes to more sporty and responsive feel the bimmers do a brilliant job and they are still more fun cars to drive. handling wise, a lot will say Mercs are still catching up wt the bimmers, but honestly from my personal experience, i feel safer in the W202 when negotiating high speed corners or should i say more comfortable... The only set back i have is that mine is C200 and a little underpowered... in short i will go for a W203 anytime over an E46... depending on the CC.. i hv test driven a few W203 V6'ers.. they did not fail to impress..
    try www.mybenz.org for more feedback....
but again its personal preference... good luck:top:

Initially my plan to get C200 instead of E46 but after I tested both finally go for E46 because I feel that C200 engine sound not sweet as E46 L6 especially in high speed with Compressor engine.
now planning to get S’pore car E60 520 2.2 (used) or Toyota Mark X (new) or Subaru Legacy (new)

What do u mean by SG car? R SG citizen or PR? Tested SG fren 5 months old Mark X & to my surprise it feel lite & the brake is harsh even at low speed. Soundproof also not good considering the luxury touch of interior. That's the different between Japs & Conti. As for legacy my fren told its good but no experience though. How's the performance of E60 2.2? Tested E60 525 Msport, smooth & refine engine. Overall nice car but I dun like the seat & steering feel. Also Japs like dashbord design.

Just got PR lah bro. Can’t drive M’sian car in SG anymore.
Subaru Legacy and Mark X I like the look and quite powerful car
performance for E60 2.2 feel like driving E46 318i and why consider is because the price quite reasonable for 4 years car. All the three cars range below 90k
share with u my friend experience with Mercedes E200K W211
one day suddenly all the light on dashboard was on and no break at all. Sent back to C&C check ABS failure cost SD$20k to repair and the car just 4 years only

Don't be so ego bro. Merz is not bad car oso. I would say diff stroke for diff folk.
If not why in F1 they use Merz as the safety car. Nobody is perfect.
BTW I already discard my option to get W203 but I would say it looks more exclusive than E46. My fren just bot E30 M3 & make me sleepless:top:
