What do you guys think of this model yr 01,02,03? Not sure bout the model & spec but its now quite affordable. Oso looks more prestige than E46. Any issue or big problem? Thanks:love:
went to see one @ sunway yesterday. c200 classic. no kompressor. superb inside out.18" wheels.clean interior.but somehow lack the x factor....the one that i always see in beemers since i was little! did ask for advice from my good mech friend (merc & bmw specialist) and he said the kompressor always kacau. didnt ask him to elaborate... but its all back to individuals...
a brabus or kleeman might tickle a bit....... the rest are too ordinary...in other words, not 'the' ultimate!
Nape tak pecaya ker?? Actually planning to get another car to replace my E36. Still contemplating which model to buy. Just consider the C class as its the more or less same price range wt E46. No doubt BMW is my Ultimate but considering other option. Only thing its not easy to find good cond used car wt service & maintenance history. Thanks for the info. More feedback pls.
we sold our E36 for a C200k many years back.... and regretted. What I liked about the E36 (318i) and C200k Mercedes - Kompressor Power - (clock 235kph once and it was scary as the car began to float) BMW - Handling, Long Distant Comfort, driving position, braking confidance, passenger seats comfort, fuel consumption, maintainance cost, low engine noise, etc... What I DIDN'T like about E36 and C200k Mercedes - 1. At abt 80kph, the Kompressor kicks in and out, giving a jerky feeling. Frustrated initially, but got used to it. 2. Drive it from Penang to Singapore, and you will become cousin of a baboon. 3. For year 00, 01 and 02. Make sure the gear box cooling system as been replaced! The fan expands during a traffic jam, and start hitting its housing, making the car sound like a diesel. What is worse, the cooling doesn't work anymore and the gasket and lining of the gearbox will crack and bleed. That's gotta cost RM10,000 to replace. Luckily mine happend during warranty. I am complain about that problem since day one, but the dealer said it's 'normal'. Again... dealing with baboons here. 4. ESP - After 7 years, the motherboard has gone a little ku-ku sometimes. ESP kicks in for no apparent reason. VERY DANGEROUS! 5. Again, get ready RM10k for the Motherboard if it burns! 6. Front indicators lamps - it's not the bulbs but the holder that has a faulty design. - Cost? RM360 each to replace. BMW E36 1. The stupid airbag signal! I just let it on! 2. Tail light bad contact - I hate it so much. 3. Butterfly throttle - engine feels like dying when cold...... well you have a one, you know the story. Good luck!
Does it really? I feel a well kitted e46 looks way hotter than any C-class. =p We've got the ultimate C-class at home and I still would have an e46 over it any day.
c200K? hmm sat in one a few weeks ago and compared to the e46, nah.... the steering feel was .... toy-ish? there are way too many buttons on the c200K as well. I tested the new engine, C200K, 03 unreg recond version.
Almost had one early this year after felt amazed by the looks of it...Seriously after a long test drive ah! ah! the car is too floaty for my driving unless if i buy and install sports suspension and 18"...apart from that its the same 1.8L Supercharged thingy where the engine starts screaming once ur in high speed... But im slightly impressed with the new C200K where theres alot of improvement from its predecessor..
B33mEr... it's the ride comfort of the C200k... more like ride discomfort. Over a long distance, your bottom will be as sore as that of a baboon.

If I were you, I'd keep my E36. If I have extra money I'll skip the Merc, E46 and E90 and go straight for the new Audi A4. BMW 3 series is good up to E46 in terms of looks, after that my eyes are getting sore.
funfer luckily yr eyes got sore not yr ass hehehehe wei initialM i think better stick to bimmer la.....................
why go into a different make when we are so well versed with a common make inside/out... yes, the Merc is appealing, but it's too soft and i m not confident about it's handling..
