More DIY on labour day :)

    Hi

I "labour-ed" myself on the BMW yesterday labour day offday. Here are some pictures:

Took the injectors , cleaned, and changed the lower and upper rubber seals
    [IMG]

Fitted new fuel pressure regulator and change all the perished rubber hoses on the fuel rail
    [IMG]

    Walla!

Fuel rail and injectors installed with new hoses
    [IMG]

Done! Click on the video below. 1st startup in 2 months...

    Hope you like it :)

When i see the cracked hoses from fuel line to injectors, it reminds me to check on my car. I would suspect it to look the same.

Check out the top of the pistons, the combustion chamber and how about that exhaust valve!!....

Head gasket looked to be in decent shape - it even came off easily enough. Cyl walls are smooth as a mirror, so I think am gonna only do a top overhaul.

So, off to the machine shop she goes...

bro Syed, look at the old gasket around water hole in cylinder number 5. you'll see that there is corrosion which leads close the the fire ring around the sleeve. correspondingly, see the shiny cylinder head around the cylinder number 5 water hole. the corrosion has eaten up the metal pretty bad that this will require a reweld and resurfacing. if you put this back as it is, there will not be good sealing so new gasket can leak.

Yup saw that. Went to an old timer mechanic for confirmation, he said not to worry. its pretty shallow and as long as the gasket is new and seated properly, shouldnt be a problem. The machine shop who did the resurfacing also said the same thing.

TQ for pointing that out though.
