I need to replace the lamp units for my angel eyes inside the headlight units on my E60 525i. I understand I need to remove the complete headlight unit to access the back of the headlight unit to get to the lamps. My question is what size torx screw drivers do I need? I understand there are 2 sizes, the 2 at the top of the unit and 2 at the bottom, both are different sizes.

Can anyone tell me what size torx screwdrivers do I need?

Many thanks for your assistance and help.

    Guys,

I finally managed to remove the headlight unit. I spent around 30 minutes trying to remove the halo lamp unit from inside the headlight so I can fit an LED unit. I failed and had to give up. Anybody got any tips/suggestions as to how to remove the halo bulb unit from inside the headlight. I understand it is a twist fit but no matter how hard I tried it would not move
Any advice how to do this?

    Many thanks in advance

bro your lampu which one,,,small or big?(aiyahh...macam 4D pulak).the small led was the one i wrongly purchased as mine require the big one(ori).

either way,you have to twist it to remove and good luck if you have big hands.maybe you can try reaching it using duckbill pliers....

err....just curious...the wiring inside the headlight all ok?no disintegrating wire insulators?:

    Hi Moots,

Many thanks for your reply, my lamps are the big brown type, I guess I will have to try some long nose pliers to try to get it out. I did not notice any issues with the wiring, it all looked good to me, although having said that I looked closely at some photos I took and there does appear to be some cracking of the insulation :61:

Reliability of Taiwan (Eagle & Depo) made headlights are just so so only. Nothing beats original. You can fully refurbish your e60 headlights (replacement of internal cables, put in actual LEDs angel eyes, clean the reflectors, etc etc) for the price of a pair of Taiwan made headlights. Go to WRC Car Lamp Centre @ Sunway.
