Hi All,Have a dream to fulfill and I'd rather do it now than later in life. Would love to own an M car and yes although there may be more cars out there now that is quicker in the same price range I have read and herd that Driving an M is an altogether different experience hence my decision to go down this path. As both the cars are getting on with age (e36 is almost way past that i guess...) hence this buy for me will be more of a keeper. It will be my daily ride for now as a start as I can't afford another car yet. Would love to have the opinions of all sifu's on both these M's and most importantly if they know of any that's for sale. Would rather buy from the forum rather than a used car dealer as then I'll be pretty sure that the car will be in good nick. Thanks in advance. Ps. Any TT that I can attend?
Alex, Thanks for the feedback but definitely want a coupe (unless there are any 4 door e36 M cars here for sale)
E36 M3: Much more raw driving experience, you really feel connected to the car and every bump and dip in the road as a result. Great drivers car. Engine does not deliver it's power as well as a E46 M3. Much rarer than the E46 M3 as they were never brought in officially. There is a red E36 M3 Evo coupe for sale at the moment if you are interested. Send a PM to shaifulo for more info. E46 M3 - More comfortable and refined, power delivery is more linear. Loses some of the character though. More suitable for a daily drive. Higher repair bills if you are considering a SMG car. Both cars will need maintenance which is higher than a regular BMW. Don't expect a problem free car due to its age. I have experienced both cars (I own a E46 M3 and my brother has a E36 M3 Evo) and each car does have its pros and cons so it really depends on what you are looking for in a car.
No worries. If you are really serious about buying it I can ask my brother to help you inspect the car. He is well versed (especially when it comes to E36 M3s) as he DIYs his own car and also has a BMW diagnostic machine.
Will definitely take up the offer once I find one that I am happy with be it a 36 or 46. There is a e46 M3 advertised for sale in Mudah and will go check it out soon as.well.

Hi there. Yes, there's always a time for a ///M. Irregardless of either a 36 or 46 that you have in mind, a well kept ///M is the one to buy. Yes, definitely we have a group of like minded people who hangs out and talk all abut ///Ms. Feel free to buzz me up for the next location and get some 'self racun' session for you. We'll be also be represented in the upcoming Bimmerfest by the club. See us there as well. Good luck hunting. p.s. for less hassle, go for a 'stick' if there's any.
