Thanks guys, I am laying on the Maguire's Canubra wax every month to keep up the shine.
Any tips to keep the grime off the wheels?

Add a coat or two of the same wax...it'll help make it easier the next time you have to clean the wheels. But didn't you hear, dirty wheels are a BMW badge of honor :yes!:

Doc don't forget...as a general rule of thumb go for carnauba wax to bring out the depth of the color and go for synthetic/polymer waxes to bring out the gloss/shine. I understand at the extreme depth and gloss are mutually exclusive.

    Doc,

Can I ask you something? How do you maintain colour of the black plastic grills? Did you repaint it? If yes with what type of paint?

there are some off-the-shelf products that restores plastic and rubber through remoisturizing/reglazing. These products also provide great UV protection to prevent future fading/drying etc.

Not sure if available back in Malaysia, I use 303 aerospace protectant exclusively (its safe for rubber, doesnt dry). I use it gor everything plastic/rubber. Awesome stuff, just google for rave reviews.

Under no circumstance should you use armor-all. Its very very bad for plastic (doesn't matter the claims) as it is very drying.

Yep its awful, I've seen 5 year old cars with dried up and cracked up dashboards on armor all treatment. Some dealers/service department won't entertain warranty claims on cracking issues if armor all was used at one point.

Of course there are some folks who get by as well. Might depend on other factors like exposure to heat/UV radiation, frequency of application etc. I'd stop or reduce armor all as soon as possible and try something a like Lexol's Vunylex or similar. If you had used armor all on your rubber lining, I would reinspect again for condition.

You have to host your pics on an Image host like www.photobucket.com and add the pic's URL when prompted. You cannot directly load pics frm your PC.
