Hi all, My meter on my E46 just got busted. No lights came on on my water temperature area and my ODO showing 999999. Would like to ask can the sedan cluster fit right into my coupe's dash ? According to one seller, the cluster sockets on the coupe is different from sedan. Please shed some light on this issue. Thanks, Ken.
Not sure about the cluster socket but I read that when you swapped the cluster, you'll see a tamper dot in the cluster display. The vehicle VIN is stored in the cluster as well as in 2 other components. If all 3 doesn't match up, the tamper dot will appear. It doesn't adversely affect the car in any way, but might be an issue when you want to sell it later. I'm not sure if the VIN can be recoded into a used cluster. Other sifus may be able to offer more insights.
