There might be a leak in the cooling system bro. Noticed any liquid under the car at ur parking garage? Suggest to go to ur mechanic and inspect. it could be as simple as a leaking hose. price range depends on what need to be changed.

worst case scenario, its mixing with ur engine oil. Check your oil coolers bro. also look at the engine oil cap n in the coolant tank if there are indication of oil/water mixture.

Normally workshop would perform a pressure test on the cooling system. Then can see where the leak is

In Segambut, u can go to Wearnes Autohaus. They used to be an Official Dealer for BMW. Still servicing BMWs. Guess thats nearer to u.

Hi Blue White, so far my car not much problem, just a small thing and that normal. maintenance cost for me not too expensive and not too cheaper. depend on workshop la. before purchase maybe you need to check on wiring, all cooler hose, and also all wear and tear item. you know la used car not all the time they park under the roof. what year made are you looking?

Usually the under carriage is covered, as a result you wont see any of such spills on the floor unless their is bucket loads of liquid leaking.
By the way you got a good deal for the parts replaced, last year I had to change similar things at it cost me around 1K, youre lucky man, lol.

First and foremost ask the seller to provide you with complete service detail of the car, you want to see if the car is serviced at regular intervals. I usually ask the seller not to drive the car if possible on the day of viewing as I want to start the car from cold and see how it starts or if the engine makes any noises. Another thing you want to check if the car is driven regularly, as a car that is not driven regularly might develop problems.
Request the seller to allow you to get the car inspected by a professional and a reputable mechanic, get the mechanic to do a complete diagnostics and physically inspect the car. Proceed only if the car is in good condition, having said that it would be a good idea to replace transmission fluid soon after purchase. One last thing, make sure you check the error/fault history in ECU and look for any errors related to active steering, this is a very common issue with E60's.

Bro, youre buying a BMW, everything will be expensive :)

Just some sharing on my recent experience on E60 cooling system. I have a 2004 525i with a M54 motor. I recently had the coolant replaced and the system flushed. During this work the garage told me that there is a small blank plug behind the oil filter that is weeping coolant, signs of old coolant round the outside of it. Due to me being lazy I forgot to get it replaced. Coming back from Penang over the new year the blank plug decided to fail loosing coolant and causing the car to overheat, fortunately I stopped the car before any engine damage was done. The car was towed to Auto Bavaria in Georgetown. Unfortunately the car was not registered into the BMW system so they could not easily help until the car was registered, more than RM 1K !! Fortunately the service advisor knew of a local BMW specialist who had the parts in stock and who could repair the car there and then. From this story 2 things, get the blank plug replaced and the Y shaped pipe near to it if you have an E60. Second thing, if you are in Penang and need a BMW specialist then look no further than ZF Auto Centre Lot 638 Belakang 17, Lorong Birch, 10250 George Town, Pulau Pinang. A BIG thanks to those guys
