Skinhead, I did not find the cliptec in Lowyat (I did not have a lot of time looking around with my young son tagging along). But I got it in USJ19 for RM35. If you live around there , I can pm you the details of the place.
Sifu, what are the pro and con between DIS/GT1 and INPA/EDIABAS. In terms of:- 1. Memory size and OS 2. User Interface 3. Complexity of the Program 4. testing feature 5. Coding feature 6. Stability of the system (Does it hang Up) 7. Easy to install Download site is very slow lar.
Jarance, in a nutshell the DIS is for technician and the INPA is for engineers (experts). DIS is like a guided tool, e.g. it will describe and explain the test with diagrams too, it give you the accepted range of the test result and also some repair recommendations if test fails. So DIS is quite nice. INPA is bare-bone (Windows) and run very fast compare to DIS (which is on SCO Unix). Anyhow, you have to install Ediabas (communication with OBD port) and INPA before you install DIS. I have all the files you need (Daemon tool lite,VM workstation (with serial-num), ediabas/inpa/NCS/WinKPF, EasyDIS V44 base, DISV44) . Total more than 2 GB. I also have the CD for TIS which you can install into your DIS. Actually, theoritically you can save the .vmdk file from Vmware and run it on another machine using vmplayer (no need vmworkstation).
Nice one IanDaddy, I would like to add, no coding capability in INPA, only read existing coding. Coding is done through NCS expert or SSS progman. DIS v44 can code up to E53, not later model. Later model coding are all done in SSS progman. INPA works natively in Win7 x64, DIS doesn't care as long as you have vmware. Jarance, if you don't want to download, copy from any of us..
aidil & ID, thanks for the comments.. Look like I have to carry my thumbdrive whenever I want to see you. (Sharing is caring) A simple question. I am trying to recode my Aircon to be "Recirculation" mode as default. Which program would be best to use? Based on both of your description:- 1. bmw scanner 1.4 - for novice 2. DIS - technician 3. INPA - expert. I also have a. bmw scanner V2.01 b. bmw dash also going to get a. bmw scanner 1.36
Jarance, I think the BMW Scanner 1.4.0 (i have not seen the other 2 versions) will be easier. DIS take awhile to boot (~ 2 minutes) and generally the interface is less friendly compare to Windows based apps, more clicks.
ID, thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately, the coding for AIC is not available for BMW Scanner 1.4.0. Your version have this function..
Let me understand correctly, so ID has a different version of BMW scanner 1.4.0 that can code for AIC?
I posted a thread on this but currently all the pictures are down.. http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?40687-HOWTO-DIS-Activating-recirculated-air-memory-function Photobucket is currently down that affect some percentage of users, http://twitter.com/Photobucket
after weeks of struggle, i manage to get dis and inpa working with cliptec converter.the best rm135 ive spent for my car thus far. tq aidil and iandaddy. will post pic later...
heres some pic o took the other day; result of networking is func inpa is working easydis test, found an error. u can also see tht the head emulator is functioning fault erased and cleared but the auto detect doesnt work on my car. it cant read the prod code detail. i can program the car for example auto locking after driving off, but somehow it doesnt working when actual. but when recheck, the data is programmed. something is not rite with the car....
Looking great! Yup it seems that the vehicle is not autodetected or the vehicle ident number would be populated. I'm not using diaghead emulator and autodetect works fine, try it wihtout the emulator. All in all, great job getting it to work!
