Am just bought an E46 Y2001 318ci which came with a cracked winscreen, but seller promised to get it replace, just want to know if there is any poorer quality replacement winscreen available in the market besides those original bimmer made. I went for Alignment and the tyre shop told me front 1pcs and rear 1 pcs tyre got defect,they help me to claimed.
so the balance 2 tyres-one is almost new and one is wear out a side cause lowering too much.
the rear tyre i buy new 2 pcs.
The problems is the cat steering keep shaking when up to 80km/per hour
is it causing front both tyre with different condition?
After my machanic try my car,the steering shaking is effect by the tyre which have wear out a side

So, my main intention here is to ask for some advise from all the sifus here.

1. Is a 2002/2008 E46 325ci worth buying? will parts be a problem in comparison with the sedans?
2. What is the common problem for purchasing a 10 year old beemer.
3. Roughly, what sort of repairs am i m gonna expect from it since it is a 10 year old ride? expected amount to budget for initial repairs?

Friends have been saying this to me 'Are u nuts? why buy a 10 year old beemer?' my reason is i cant afford a newer beemer but always love and dream of owing one.

Sorry if such posting have been mentioned here many times but in a urgent need of answers since i m planning to purchase one anytime this week. Actually just test driven one earlier today, loving it and looking good (from the outside).

Need advice here, last night i park my car at my garage. Park a bit inclined about 20 degree downward. In the morning i noticed there is a lot of oil stain down under the car. Last service just changed the oil pan gasket, crankshaft seal, flywheel oil seal, solenoid o rings and full service. What possibly the leak come from. I haven't service my vacuum pump now. My question is that because of the leaking vacuum pump which caused a lot of stains down the engine bay. Is it possible the cause is from the vacuum pump?. Need advice here.

By the way my ride is 2002 318i 2.0 n42b20. I did know the reputation but i'm trying hard to solve all this.

Scenario

1.Yesterday I warming up my E46 1.9 Y2000 after few days remain at the garage then after few minutes I switched off as normal
2.Today I'm failed to unlock the car then I go manually - ok unlock but only the driver side door
3.Then I try on the ignition but nothing appear - totally blank
4.Check all terminal connection - battery n jumper terminal all ok ( suggested by sir jarance in previous thread )
5.Then next step I go for jump start at the jumper terminal - ignition on with all the lights on
6.Then I turn the key to start - only heard click click sound n the burnt smell at engine bay
7.When smell surrounding at engine bay - smell coming from the alternator
8.I stop all the activies and begin typing on the forum - what shall I do ?

2. stering rack baru ditukar di bengkel A..kemudian 2 hari lepas tu kereta terbabas dan masuk workshop 2 bulan..masa dekat workshop tu,cek stering rack..rupanya bengkel A tadi pasang model e36 yg punya.adakah sebab kerana stering rack tersebut menyebabkan kereta hilang kawalan. sekarang masih guna stering rack e36 tapi telah ditukar side rod menggunakan model e46..rasa ok tapi ringan bila bawak 110km/h. rasa macam nak melayang je..sekarang ni bawak 100je la paling laju..
