i watched a documentary "Autobahn" recently on discovery channel. it said that on the autobahn, there is an unwritten hierarchy among germans with regards to car brands. one brand of car needs to move over if the car of higher rank is behind it. the hierarchy is like this:
1. porsche
2. mercedes
3. bmw
4. audi
5. volks
6. opel
looks like bimmer has to move over for merc in germany.. what about in M'sia, guys? do you move over?

Yup, as mighty as the E60 M5 is, on the Autobahn it still can't outrun the Supercharged Merc E55. Guess the M5 will have to move over. :beaten:

It depends on whose hierachy we're talking about. I'm afraid in M'sia, there's no such 'understood' hierachy. Hahaha.....No.2 is right. Bigger cars rather give way to smaller reckless cars where the drivers think they're behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 or something.....hahahah.....just because they have a giant exhaust hanging 2" from the ground!!! :D :dunno:

And throwing out showers of sparks when their exhaust hits the tarmac. I really watch such cars in case they leave their mufflers behind on the tarmac. :D

The hierachy is based on what criteria? The British will probably say it's based on the size of the "long shaft" : puniest at the top :P

I think the biggest NSE terrorists are the 8 cyl X5s....most cars move over way before they get close.

Wudn't you when see one of these munsters cum at you in your rear-view mirror???? :nyehehe: Not easy to outrun them as they have the power and straight line speeds to match our rides...

i 'move over' all the time!
i 'move over' to the emergency lane, when all lanes are blocked by slower cars, and overtake from there....
was racing with an x5 on the NSE few months back... left him easily when there's traffic to thread through.... but he kept catching up when the road was clear.... eventually, had to move over for him....
move over for mercedes? very seldom do i come across a mercedes driven fast... it's too expensive, so the owners wud rather cruise typically....
The glare from some MPV's Xenons would make you move over just so it doesnt blind you from the rear.

I was tionging a 760Li (DX 8, white) on the highway back from Fraser's (DD may have saw my antics).
What a laugh. The car didn't even squat 1mm as the driver floored it and rocketed away at 150 km/h as though I was standing still.
My high speed antics with X5s have all ended in defeat.

That is the problem... BIG CCs ROCKS... the only way we "small fries" can challenge them is either to upgrade to bigger cc or go the charging route. :nyehehe: :nyehehe:

I once read an article, a guy in australia put in a e34 M5 engine in an e30, just so that he could cucuk a e39 m5. :aggressive: :D
