View Full Version : Official F1 visit
As an official BMW club, does the committee have close enough relations with BMW Malaysia to organize a Paddock visit to the new BMW Sauber F1 team during the upcoming Malaysian Grand Prix?
Even if it's on free practice day, it would be something I am sure lots of members would be up for!

BMW would still need to buy tickets from SIC to give them away. Maybe if u get a new M3 or M5 from them, they might give u complimentary paddock passes...

SIC aahhh..........too strict with procedures, fed-up with their stooooopid farking security guards....even on drag racing events they are strict, what more on F1 events.....they will check your bags, they will entertain the 'mat sallehs' only, malaysians will be chased away and refused entry if no proper pass.

Thankfully I never had problems... There was once, we took the shuttle from the car park (the VIP ones..got free tickets, hehe) and the guy accidentally dropped us at the Paddock...me and my bro had a fantastic one hour hanging out at the pit area, taking photos and making a nuinsance out of ourselves!! :D
scin....
dude, unfortunately even if we were able to get the invitation by bmw sauber,we would most likely lose our invites to the other local VIP's....
u knw lah,how these prominent buggers work their 'magic'.
but overall it does sound like an interesting idea...anyone in the committee has enough influence to request the bmw malaysia guys to forward tht request??? ;)
fabianyee
02-16-2006, 03:34 PM
how many invites would u think they would be able to give as complimentary??? And how many of us here in the forum?
But it'll be interesting if they do sponsor passes as prizes for the treasure hunt and possibly annual dinner lucky draw fot next year's race..

Excellent idea! even though I can't make it.
Come on committee... make it happen and make sure when it does, make it so that entry is by ownership of a BMW.
Then, Mr.Dictator for Life of Non BMW,BMW club won't be laughing so hard anymore

I'll say this much... We are not invisible to BMW Malaysia. What's discussed has been taken into account.
But seriously, briniging all of you down for free? Are you kidding me? Do you see Porsche Club getting free passes?
As Fabian said. Passes as prizes could be possible. I repeat, could be possible.
Have a good weekend gentlemen.

Off topic.. that "Racing" thread is cracking me up.
Well, let's live in hope of potential free passes from BMW AG!
Word!
Ok la,
Free passes is wishful thinking la
Paddock access was a bit of a daydream, but you never know till you try.
The least they could do is invite club members to the "meet the drivers" session which they have had in the past.
Doesn't being an official chapter of BMW Clubs worldwide count for anything? Isn't the club endorsed by BMW Malaysia?
I agree, the club can't be "invisible" to them.

first of all the paddock ticket cost 5 figures to get one, second of all the invites are for the CEOs and bigshots of the sponsors of the team, eg. HP, Phillip Morris etc etc. thirdly there is a sh*t load of security checks, the pit lane walk is about 15 mins at most. The only way you could get a ticket to the paddock for any team is if you know someone very well up in the Sponsors.
i say good luck bcoz it aint easy getting it and believe me paying 10 to 15k for the paddock ticket isnt worth it at all, you might as well go buy the merchandise, food and booze and watch it at home coz its not as fun as watching it from the grandstand or tower.

Sorry dude.... I should have done a little more research. You are a unique individual who brings color and contradiction to this forum.

BMW Sucks!
LOSERS!
"Non BMW, BMW Club" FOREVER!
So for all you "driving pleasure" BMW partisans, please, get your head outta BMWs ass, look around you, and make an informed choice the next time you purchase a car that you're going to claim to be the "ultimate driving machine".
Lee, you and I probably know more about BMWs than the whole staff of AB combined... Seriously, they don't know crap.
but given that I used to own a 330 and have driven an e90 325, I thought I'd chip in with my 2 cents.
Your money isn't paying for the labour, it's not paying for the cheapo Zymol wax either.
It's paying for the swish facilities, Hi-Fi (HA! Such cheapo stuff can also call Hi Fidelity!) rooms, AV room, Massage (?) rooms, extensive advertising, etc., etc.
Scooby is ridiculously clean right now. The RM400 I paid for the full detailing package is a steal, it's a deal, it's the sale of the f.ucking century! Those guys really, really, go to work on your car; if Scooby were a sensitive soul, she'd be referring them all to the Special Commision for sticking so many fingers into her crevices! Seriously, I've never seen such detailed detailing- good on them- I hope they keep their standards up.
Oh, and the place itself is pretty sweet- I quite like the Kampung House-esque waiting area.
MAYBE YOU SHOULD MODERATE YOURSELF
QUOTE:
As for those of you with differences in opinions; go for it. Give as good as you get, within reason of course- no overly personal attacks
F.man,
this is your first warning.
You seem to have trouble being civil with your comments, even though no one provoked nor addressed you.
If you have any problems with that, or this warning, do not post on the BMW Club Malaysia forums anymore.
Juan,
I think we all need security from your rampant dick...
Zoakies,
you finally get it! Yay! That's right, you are an idiot!
The way you put it, E46F, sounds like you think they have an inferiority complex!
Alfas today are just not as good as BMW/Mercs, and those "rich kids, yuppies and young execs/professionals" know it and aren't stupid
F.Man drives a FWD car! No wonder he's so upset about my comments about FWD being second best to RWD! It's official now, he DOES have self image problems! Can't stand anyone insulting the car he loves, even when it's blatantly true!!! Hahahaha!!!
F.Man, you are such an Insecure Mo.ther F.ucker!!! Get over it!
Hey, I'm not taking anything away from the DC2/5, I've always wanted one! But that does not blind me to its limitations! But only a fool would blindly defend his stand in the face of THE LAWS OF PHYSICS!!!
Dude, I'm not an automotive engineer, not by a long shot, but I do have to question, have you even passed your A-Level Physics?! Hahahaha!!!
OK, I admit, I've made assumptions about F.Man's looks, but I now DEFINITELY KNOW that he is STUBBORN, IGNORANT & STUPID!!! Plus, he has a SELF ESTEEM PROBLEM!!!
As much as it gratifies me to be granted such "special" status, don't. I am just another member of this community, albeit one who's probably alot more outspoken, rude, crude and intelligent than the average. Ha.
F.uck, I must be really losing my touch if a thread containing an inflammatory posting by me goes dormant!
Excuse me,
which moderator moderated my postings?
This forum is supposed to be about BMWs (and cars), something which you threw out of the window with your comments about how I was "undeserving" and a "yuppie".

So, yeah, I'll have to agree with jeff that he is indeed a fan of mine! I mean, just look at the length of his reply! Some of those quotes go back a year or more! Man, imagine, how many posts of mine did he have to read?!
I'm really touched and flattered.
No problemo,
I couldn't find the stuff where you whipped Autochilds ass and also that newbie chick, galintobm.
Dont see them around no more
guess you showed em whos the mod
I always do.
Yes you showed every who's the Mod.. and what a pathetic life you lead.. I guess you always do.. and Yes Autochild is not around here anymore as we have no time for this club until they get their act together, or at least till someone off's the Unecessary. We're too busy fixing BMW's.
Autochild [/b][/quote]
Autochild, still haven't gotten rid of that teenage acceptance angst, eh? But then again, I guess you are Autochild, which is very apt nickname for a person of your mental maturity.
Hey, just cos there's another person (amongst many!) that voices out their dislike for you and your establishment doesn't mean you should go on one of your rants again, you know.
I thought we already got the message loud and clear to you the last time in plain and simple English. The message was:-
GO AWAY.
But I guess the Autoboy has problems with his basic English comprehension. Maybe that's why he's now fixing BMWs (badly, it would seem), instead of driving them.
When will you ever learn?
*Sigh*

The Necc,
Yes you always do!
Which is what is so perplexing to me
My research has led me to believe that you are supposedly really nice in person
But, your online persona is... to put it simply you are an a.hole
You, as you put it, give it as good as you can take it
but why? why? must you put everyone down all the time? It's just uncalled for.
insulting their intelligence at every opportunity. They may say some stupid and unsubstantiated things, but do you need to shoot them down in the manner that you do. everyone is here to share their views and opinions in a friendly manner.not everyone will agree with one another, but it should be done in a civilised manner. your attacks on autochild and galintobm and even lee was, I feel were totally uncalled for
I think you are very knowledgable but your enthusiasm needs to tempered a little so as not to antagonize everyone you come in contact with online
autochild WAS plugging his shop, but he was trying to provide a service which he feels MAY be beneficial to members.Ultimately, it is up to them to decide if they are or not. While informing him of his breach of forum guidelines is well within your duties as a moderator, I feel the manner in which you carried out your duties was incorrect. If you are incapable of doing so in a polite and respectable manner, please allow another one of the moderators to take over some of these duties.
galinotbm was a very sad case.Instead of properly welcoming a newbie (of which females are a rare breed) you have managed to piss her off so badly, that she may never resurface again.
you seriously need to consider some self Moderation
does none of the committee realize this? or are you all so swung by his real life personality that you are willing to close one eye?
if you hate BMWs and BMW owners so much, what are you actually doing on this forum. they are not all pretentious yuppies and show offs. so what if you used to own one and you have access to all your family BMWs. ?
