A friend came to me and told me that her car got some paint droplets from some paint work being done nearby in an underground car park. I wasnt too sure how to advise her so i thought i'd ask some detailing gurus here. So anyone has any idea what to do? All i know is that using thinner and paint remover is a definite NO NO!

I used turpentine the last time, but have to be careful and wash off well, it will remove some car paint with it.

If it has not dried for long claying would be the safest way.

Best way is to send the car to a professional to remove them.

you can try using a claybar, lotsa soapy water and some tender loving care to get it off.

i agree with jeffrey. send it to the professional. only they would know best. doing yourself is just too risky. even a little damage will keep irritating the shit out of her when she drives the car.

if there are lots of them, send to a painter to remove. if not so many, send to a detailer and get a full job done on the car. it's never a bad choice to send your car for a good polish

3er, if its big blobs of paint, better bring it to a pro, but if its fine airblown paint drops, you can remove it by claybar. Use the professional series of mequirs claybar (red colour one).

I think home fixit at one-utama phase 2 having sale of car care products of 10-15% off. Includes turtle wax, mequiars and some others......

It aint my car and its on a Civic. :)

Ok, next question (also on the same Civic) - it has got some minor accident damage on the front plastic bumper and the chrome grill with some scratches and paint work left from the other car. How do i get rid of this? (Re painting is out of the question).
